December 18, 2016

MIM: The AJC Counter Terrorism Division aka The AJC's Division on Middle East and International Terrorism (DMEIT) operated from 1999 to 2013. It was touted as the being "the only department of its kind within the Jewish organizational world". Now Counterterrorism Watch and the DMEIT have all but dissapeared from the AJC website and a new AJC project appears to have taken its place. The Muslim Jewish Advisory Council under the direction of Robert Silverman who has a perverse proclivity for doing kumbaya with radical Muslims and Muslim Brotherhood organisations such as the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

Last week Silverman travelled to Ft. Pierce Florida and made a donation and speech to Muslims at the mosque frequented by terrorists like the Pulse shooter Omar Mateen, to help rebuild it after an arson attack.

This is the webpage of Counterterrorism Watch today.

Counterterrorism Watch, created by AJC's Division on Middle East and International Terrorism (DMEIT), is a web-based resource designed to inform and educate professionals and the general public about international terrorism and efforts to contain it. DMEIT, established in 1999, focuses on gathering, interpreting, and disseminating open source intelligence. It is the only department of its kind within the Jewish organizational world.

MIM: ISNA issued this "clarification" on December 5th regarding their participation in the MJAC. They basically assured their supporters that despite their association with the MJAC they would continue to promote a radical Islamist agenda and persist in adhering to their Muslim Brotherhood ideological stances on all issues concerning Muslims In short, ISNA is using the MJAC as a fig leaf for their efforts to promote sharia via da'wa and stealth jihad.

"...Lastly, ISNA leadership reiterates that even as ISNA is represented on the MJAC, our principled commitment to domestic and international causes of concern to Muslims will remain strong. We specifically would like to reiterate support for the right of individuals and organizations in the US to peacefully work for human rights and the right of self-determination of Palestinians without fear of legal sanction...."

CLARIFICATION: ISNA AND THE MUSLIM-JEWISH ADVISORY COUNCIL

December 5, 2016

Clarification: ISNA and the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council

(Plainfield, IN 11/18/16) Earlier this week, the formation of a Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council (MJAC) was announced and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) has been inundated with inquiries about the efforts which led to the formation of MJAC, ISNA's role in MJAC, and the purpose and objectives of MJAC. The leadership of ISNA appreciates the inquiries and would like to provide clarification.

ISNA staff were involved in the discussions which led to the formation of the council. The American Jewish Committee (AJC) approached the ISNA Office of Interfaith and Community Alliances (OICA) to explore such a venture, in line with that department's focus to promote interfaith dialogue. ISNA appreciates the outreach and support we have received from all our interfaith partners, especially the Jewish American community. The three action items MJAC is expected to undertake are:

The Council will highlight the contributions of Muslims and Jews to American society, and aim to celebrate their contributions in the best traditions of American democracy. The Council will develop a coordinated strategy to address anti-Muslim bigotry and anti-Semitism in the U.S. The Council will work to protect and expand the rights of religious minorities in the U.S., as enshrined in the Constitution, so they may practice their faiths in full freedom and security.

ISNA supports these action items and will honor the agreement reached with AJC and the MJAC members to promote Muslim-Jewish dialogue and understanding. Following the public announcement of the formation of MJAC, an internal inquiry revealed that standard reporting and approval mechanisms were not followed to secure formal approval of ISNA leadership to elevate involvement of ISNA to the level of "co-convener" of MJAC. We were thus surprised to receive the announcement about ISNA's collaboration with AJC on the formation of the MJAC. The efforts to launch MJAC, while laudable, are not limited only to ISNA and AJC. Rather MJAC is a separate and independent body comprised of over thirty individuals and organizations represented on the council. The co-chairs of MJAC do not represent AJC or ISNA. In a spirit of openness and collaboration, both AJC and ISNA recommended Jewish and Muslim individuals respectively, to be on the council, with some Muslim members of MJAC even being suggested by AJC, while some Jewish members were suggested by ISNA. Since only one meeting of MJAC has occurred, preparation for future meetings will afford the opportunity for the leadership of MJAC to consider adding individuals and organizations.

Lastly, ISNA leadership reiterates that even as ISNA is represented on the MJAC, our principled commitment to domestic and international causes of concern to Muslims will remain strong. We specifically would like to reiterate support for the right of individuals and organizations in the US to peacefully work for human rights and the right of self-determination of Palestinians without fear of legal sanction.

"The Fort Pierce radical mosque has produced a suicide bomber, an individual who has committed the deadliest mass shooting in US history, and a Taliban supporter who was the Vice President of the mosque. It makes sense then that, following the shooting attack, ICFP would take as a spokesman for the mosque a leader of a group associated with terrorism. That's exactly what the mosque did, when it named Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, a local leader of the Hamas-related CAIR, as the mosque's new spokesman." http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/7438

AJC Donates to Repair Florida Mosque

December 9, 2016 – New York – AJC presented a donation today to help rebuild the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce, Florida, severely damaged in an arson attack in September.

An attack on any house of worship is an affront to all Americans, regardless of their religious affiliation," said Robert Silverman, AJC Director of Muslim-Jewish Relations. "Burning a mosque is a hate crime condemned by the entire American Jewish community."

Silverman traveled to Fort Pierce to present the AJC donation to Imam Syed Shafeeq Ur Rahman, director of the Islamic Center, and also to address the congregation during Friday prayers.

"When Jews were persecuted in Europe during the time of the Inquisition centuries ago, they took shelter in Islamic lands. Welcoming those refugees was an act of kindness that will never be forgotten by the Jewish people. Today, AJC is honored to give back in a small, symbolic way," Silverman told the congregation.

A suspect has been arrested and faces charges of arson and hate-crime enhancement. Federal authorities are examining whether to file charges as well. "The perpetrator should be brought to justice as swiftly as possible and to the fullest extent of the law," Silverman said.

MIM:As Daniel Greenfield points out Robert Silverman's claim that Jews fleeing the Inquisition "took shelter in Islamic lands" is "blatant historical revisionism" and the truth is that:

"Jews had been persecuted in Spain by Muslims, long before that. Mohammed had begun persecuting the Jews long before even that. Muslim oppression of Jews has continued for over a thousand years. Under Islamic rule Jews were exploited, oppressed, persecuted, massacred and ethnically cleansed far too many times to count. Their children were stolen, their holy places were seized and their blood was shed.

This is what Robert Silverman is thanking Islam for."
