Flemish Syria Fighter Back In Belgium
A Flemish Muslim who was wounded when he fought in the Syria civil war is being cared for in a hospital in Brussels. The young Islamist from Vilvoorde was a pivotal figure by the recruitment of other Muslim youth for the fight in Syria against those in power.
This was announced by May Hans Bonte of Vilvoorde Monday in the Flemish media. According to the paper Het Laatste Nieuws it was the 21 year old Houssien Eloussaki, who was convicted last year for his activities by the extremist organistion Sharia for Belgium.
According to Bonte Elouassaki provided canon fodder for the Syrian struggle. The Muslim extremist is now looking at a jail sentence of 15 months after his recover because he managed to avoid an earlier community service sentence.

Een Vlaamse moslim die gewond raakte toen hij meevocht in de burgeroorlog in Syrië, wordt verpleegd in een ziekenhuis in Brussel. De jonge islamist uit Vilvoorde was een spilfiguur bij het ronselen van andere moslimjongeren voor de strijd tegen de Syrische machthebbers.
Dat stelde burgemeester Hans Bonte van Vilvoorde maandag in Vlaamse media. Volgens de krant Het Laatste Nieuws gaat het om de 21-jarige Houssien Elouassaki, die vorig jaar veroordeeld werd voor zijn activiteiten bij de extremistische organisatie Sharia for Belgium.
Volgens Bonte leverde Elouassaki kanonnenvoer voor de Syrische strijd. De moslimextremist hangt na zijn genezing een gevangenisstraf van 15 maanden boven het hoofd omdat hij een eerdere werkstraf wist te ontlopen.

Terrorism threat after 2009 is substantial again
It is possible that Dutch jihad fighters who return from Syria want to perpetrate and attack in Holland. Though there is no concrete evidence regarding an attack the National Coordinator For Counter Terrorism and Security (NCTV) Dick Schoof has increased the threat level for terrorism to the highest level.
It is for the first time since 1009 that the level 'substantial' (levels 3 and 4) is in force. Since November of this year the limited level of (level 2 out of 4) was in force. The man in the street will notice nothing of the increase and they shouldnt be worried. Schoof says that among other things the secret service AIVD and the police 'have increased their level of alertness and have intensified their efforts'.
The increased threat picture is according to Schoof not related to the monarchy change on April 30. The reason that the NCTV has decided to increase the level, mainly has to do with the possible threat which emanates from the returning jihad travellers.

Het is voor het eerst sinds 2009 dat het niveau 'substantieel' (niveau 3 van 4) van kracht is. Sinds november van dat jaar gold het niveau beperkt (niveau 2 van 4). De burgers op straat merken niets van de verhoging en ze hoeven zich geen zorgen te maken. Schoof zegt dat onder meer de geheime dienst AIVD en de politie 'hun alertheid hebben verhoogd en hun inspanningen hebben geïntensiveerd'.
Het verhoogde dreigingsbeeld staat volgens Schoof volledig los van de troonswisseling op 30 april. Dat de NCTV heeft besloten het niveau aan te passen, heeft vooral te maken met de mogelijke dreiging die uitgaat van teruggekeerde jihadreizigers.
