Former CAIR Florida Chairman Heads American Muslim Community Centers

Atif Fareed a former chairman of CAIR Florida is now the president of the American Muslim Community Centers (AMCC). (Note that the name is plural.). The group recently opened a center in Longwood Florida which is the first of its kind in the Sunshine State. The opening was attended by the Mayor and four city commissioners who were treated to a Mediterranean meal and presented with a free copy of the Quran. Fareed says that the center intends to hold "open houses" and "interfaith" events for the public which translates into da'wa (proseltysing) activities. He says that Muslims have not done "as good a job as they should" to "reach out" to the community. In an interview (see link below) Fareed stated "My job is to invite [people to Islam]".

He heads a youth group called "Future Muslim Leaders of America" and started the United Islamic Center of America Inc. now defunct. Besides his work with CAIR Fareed volunteered for the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) an Al Qaeda linked group which organised "jihad camps" before 9/11. (For a profile of Fareed's activities see below).

CAIR is a Saudi funded front group for Hamas and was an unindicted co conspirator in the Holyland Foundation Hamas funding trial. CAIR is also a defendant in a 9/11 terrorism lawsuit. The suit claims that:

"86. Council on American Islamic Relations and CAIR Canada (collectively, CAIR), have aided, abetted, and materially sponsored and al Qaeda and international terrorism. CAIR is an outgrowth of the Hamas front group the Islamic Association of Palestine…87. CAIR and CAIR-Canada have, since their inception, been part of the criminal conspiracy of radical Islamic terrorism. These organizations play a unique role in the terrorist network."

The AMCC Islamist expansionist enterprise is not the first started by a former CAIR member. Ahmed Bedier the former executive director of CAIR Tampa now heads an Islamist oriented organization with the misleading patriotic name United Voices for America (UVA). http://www.unitedvoices.com/?page_id=2

In February Bedier was part of an AMCC delegation which attended a speech by Michelle Obama showing that there are zero degrees of separation between the CAIR the AMCC and UVA. http://www.amccenters.org/latest-news/313-amcc-joins-michelle-obamas-lets-move-saturday-february-11th-at-northland-church

. According to the Orlando Sentinel:

"The 17,000-square-foot facility is the first of its kind in Florida, and features a gymnasium, combo squash-and-racquetball room, library, kitchen, and prayer room.

City officials praised the group for its conversion of a rundown warehouse into a family-oriented facility for Muslims throughout Central Florida.

"I love that the focus is on chldren. Anything for kids, I support it," said Longwood Mayor Brian Sackett, a fifth-grade teacher.

The grand opening Wednesday was attended by about a dozen city officials and employees, including four of the city's five commissioners. After a tour, the two-dozen people attending the event were served a Mediterranean meal and provided complimentary copies of the Qur'an.

American Muslim Community Centers President Atif Fareed thanked city officials for their support and cooperation in locating the center in Longwood." http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/features-the-religion-world/2012/06/07/longwood-muslim-community-center-opens/
