The warm fuzzy headline reads:"Muslim groups raise thousands for Pittsburgh synagogue shooting victims." What is not revealed is that one of the Muslim groups lauded for their efforts is in fact a hardcore dawa organization called 'Celebrate Mercy' whose aim is "educate both Muslims and non-Muslims on the life and character of the Prophet Muhammad" whose founder Tarek El-Messidi works together with avowed anti semite and Hamas operative Linda Sarsour. A video of international Islamists supporting Celebrate Mercy includes Yusuf Islam aka Cat Stevens and Hamza Yusuf head of the sharia promoting Zaytuna Institute where El Messidi volunteers.

(The second fundraising Muslim group 'MPower Change - A Muslim Grassroots Movement' is another hardcore Islamist organisation which promotes an anti American pro sharia agenda and is run by rabid anti semite Linda Sarsour). http://mpowerchange.org/

This Islamist effort is nothing more than a cynical attempt to use the murder of Jews for proselytising and getting positive PR for the Muslim community. (A growing list of media outlets providing obsequious coverage is on the bottom of the LaunchGood page.)

"A crowdfunding campaign started by two Muslim groups has raised more than $55,000 for the victims of the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday...The fundraiser was started by Celebrate Mercy and MPower Change, two Muslim-American nonprofit organizations. Tarek El Messidi founder and CEO of "Celebrate Mercy now raising money for dead Jews is an Islamist & former MSA head who is exploiting the massacre for dawah purposes. CM's real aim is " to educate both Muslims and non-Muslims on the life and character of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)."

"Tarek El-Messidi was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee where he served two years as the local MSA President. In 2001, shortly after 9/11, he co-founded the first-ever Ramadan Fast-a-thon and coordinated the publication of a 45-page Fast-a-thon Organizing Manual. This manual, publicized by MSA National, enabled the annual charity to spread to 300 campuses worldwide raising over $1 million over the past 9 years to fight hunger.

Tarek went on to study Islam at various Deen Intensive programs and in Jordan for one year; he then returned to Tennessee to earn an MBA. While pursuing his MBA, he served as president of the Muslim Community of Knoxville..."
