Jihadist Jermaine G. Lead An Educational Organisation
It appears that he is the leader of a foundation for lessons in Arabic culture which is part of a network in De Gooi. Jihad goer Jermaine W. who left last week with his family to join the Islamic State in Syria is the chairman of a foundation in Huizen which among other things teaches the Arabic culture and language to children and youth...
The foundation Educational Institute for Arabic Language and Culture has as its goal the propogation of the Arabic as well as the Dutch language, art and culture, according to information from the Chamber of Commerce. The Gooi has more educational organisations whereby people with jihadist sympathies are involved. In Hilversum a second institute offers Koran lessons from 2009 on youths aged 6 to 16. Also adults can follow courses by the Gooise Educational Institute for the Arabic language. Officially it is about Arabic language lessons, but from the folder it appears that the courses are directed at the learning of the Koran and increasing knowlege of Islam.
The founder is Abou Hafs, a radical preacher from Hilversum. He is also one of the instructors. In a song on YouTube he glorified jihad. Also he spoke at a jihadist demonstration. In an interview with NRC last year he called the kidnapping of Westerners under certain circumstances "legitimate".

Jermaine W. vertrok onlangs naar terreurgroep IS. Hij blijkt leider van een stichting voor les in de Arabische cultuur, die deel is van een Goois netwerk. Jihadganger Jermaine W., die vorige week met zijn gezin naar de Islamitische Staat in Syrië vertrok, is voorzitter van een stichting in Huizen die onder meer Arabische taal en cultuur onderwijst aan kinderen en jongeren. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van NRC Handelsblad. Veiligheidsdiensten hebben W. al sinds 2004 in het vizier vanwege radicale ideeën. Hij is nooit veroordeeld. De stichting Educatief Instituut Arabische Taal en Cultuur heeft tot doel kennis bij jongeren te bevorderen van „zowel de Arabische als Nederlandse taal, kunst en cultuur", zo blijkt uit gegevens van de Kamer van Koophandel.
Het Gooi heeft meer onderwijsorganisaties waarbij mensen met jihadistische sympathieën betrokken zijn. In Hilversum verzorgt een tweede instituut sinds 2009 koranlessen aan 6- tot 16-jarigen. Ook volwassenen kunnen een cursus volgen bij dit Gooisch Educatief Instituut voor de Arabische taal. Officieel gaat het om Arabische taalles, maar uit de folder blijkt dat cursussen gericht zijn op het leren van de Koran en het vergroten van de kennis over de islam.

Ook voerde hij het woord op een jihadistische betoging. In een gesprek met NRC vorig jaar noemde hij het ontvoeren van westerlingen onder bepaalde omstandigheden „legitiem".
