Iran's Navy Rounds The Horn Of Africa
February 12, 2014
February 11, 2014 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Though normally a topic of deadly serious concern, we turn today towards the Ayatollocracy's latest bit of bravado – sending a "naval flotilla" to the Atlantic Ocean in order to strike fear in the heart of Satan America.
"The world has been taken aback by the entrance of the Iranian fleet of warships in the (Atlantic) Ocean and this is one of the blessings of the Islamic Revolution," Commander of the Cyber Headquarters of Iran's Armed Forces General Staff Brigadier General Behrouz Esbati said in the Northern city of Rasht on Monday." Progress of the flotilla has been a wee bit slow though, 30 days to round the Horn of Africa, probably putting it on course to enter U.S. coastal waters sometime in April [barring headwinds of course] where its sheer presence will of course "strike fear in the heart of Satan America."
The flotilla consists of two aged vessels identified by Fox News as, "the frigate Sabalan and Kharg, a supply ship capable of carrying helicopters…"
The Sabalan has seen some action during its long career, attacking unarmed oil tankers. The Sabalan's prowess was sorely challenged when after the Iran-Iraq war, in 1988 the frigate was engaged by the U.S. Navy after it had fired on U.S. A-6 warplanes. Responding to the Iranian attack one of the sixties vintage Grumman twin engine jets dropped a laser guided bomb on the vessel, immediately disabling it.
The Sabalan was left dead in the water and required being ignominiously towed back to port.
So my fellow American's prepare for the worst, the Iranian navy is on its way.
Allah knows best…
