Nation Magazine Bends Over For NY Times

By WILLIAM MAYER

January 3, 2014 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - It's a predictable pattern, the NY Times or the Washington Post publishes drivel timed to coincide with whatever talking points their masters - the hacks that run the Democrat Party - are spouting and immediately the rest of the liberal slug media runs with it...even if that journey takes them headlong into a brick wall.

The current cause de célèbre is the fairytale spun by this fellow Kirkpatrick for the NYT in which he concluded that neither al-Qaeda central [stiff Binny's former baby, now run by Zawahiri] nor an al-Qaeda affiliate [let's say a group such as Ansar al-Sharia for example] had anything to do with the September 11, 2012 deadly attack on the U.S. Embassy located in Benghazi, Libya.

In the NYT piece, perhaps Mr. Kirkpatrick's most absurd assertion was that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula's incredibly stupid, amateurish video was "in large part," the cause of the attack.

"...in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam." [source, Fred Fleitz, New York Times' Benghazi article a shameless bid to send Hillary to White House in 2016 , Fox News]

This despite the fact that the U.S. State Department official [declassified] findings apparently placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Islamic jihadist attackers.

"...Responsibility for the tragic loss of life, injuries, and damage to U.S. facilities and property rests solely and completely with the terrorists who perpetrated the attacks. The Board concluded that there was no protest prior to the attacks, which were unanticipated in their scale and intensity. [source, U.S. State Department investigation regarding Benghazi attack]

It's plain from the wording of this section of the report that State disregarded the specious claim that the attack grew out of a protest by Islamists incensed by Nakoula's anti-Mohammed video.

There is a rumor, unconfirmed, that at the time of the attack, a haggard old crone by the name of Hillary Clinton was running State.

But the lefty press doesn't allow reality to pierce their contrived narratives, so now we have the most prominent socialist journal in the U.S., The Nation, jumping into the fray, of course siding with the Times.

First things first, The Nation is, I believe, not only the most long lived American lefty periodical, it's the oldest continually published magazine in the U.S., a true accomplishment in the world of hard copy publishing. Such a achievement is unfortunately not germane to the matter at hand, but it does sketch a picture of the reverence with which the left hold the magazine and the degree to which its readers dine on this type of swill.

As a matter of perspective, we must note that The Nation had previously "outed" PipeLineNews.org as one of the practitioners of what they called the "New [Islamophobic] McCarthyism" because of our 15 year history of edgy anti-jihad reportage. That the facts of the story, as they pertain to our organization and associates is hysterically inaccurate, is beside the point - this is how these people work, scum bags pushing bilge.

Not to worry, we took it as a badge of honor.

"Their efforts often appear to be linked. As first noted by blogger Richard Silverstein, the earliest web attack on El-Haj's book was posted simultaneously by Campus Watch and FrontPage, in October 2005. Alexander Joffe, identified as a professor at SUNY, Purchase, published a harshly negative review of the book in The Journal of Near Eastern Studies that same month. The prestigious journal did not note--and was not informed--that he was then director of Campus Watch. Soon after, he became research director for the David Project. Less prominent researchers like Stern, the online PipeLine News and writers such as Beila Rabinowitz and William Mayer provide raw material to the more well-known portals..." [source, Larry Cohler-Esses, The New McCarthyism - A network of right-wing activists on college and high school campuses are targeting Muslims, Arabs and other Mideast experts, indifferent to the truth or decency of their charges , The Nation]

The article currently under the spotlight, published by The Nation, was written by Bob Dreyfuss, one of the journal's contributing editors. In it he claims that the NYT piece "demolished" the Benghazi/al-Qaeda link, thus routing the nonexistent zealots of John Boehner's GOP.

Again we refer you to the aforementioned State Department's take on the Mohammed video.

It's really too bad this article wasn't published last year. then the Times' Kirkpatrick would have had some competition for ass-clown journo of the year. Alas that is not the case and despite Mr. Dreyfuss' considerable skill in channeling Mr. Kirkpatrick's efforts, it was published a few days too late to be in contention.

We do note that Dreyfuss' piece is about 7,000 words shorter than Mr. K's, something for which we are enormously grateful.

Perhaps we can create a special award category for regurgitative leftist butt munch of the year for the next go around, who knows?

If that does turn out to be the case, Mr. Dreyfuss is at least in the running for our 2014 award, though it's a little too early for him to start cruising Goodwill for an moth-eaten tux and a pair of red clown shoes.
