I think therefore Islam? Queens Public Television to air Jihadist films for suicide bomber supporting 'Islamic Thinkers Society'

May 3, 2005

MIM: The oxmoronically named Islamic Thinkers Society, an offshoot of Al Muhajiroun, "one of the most extremist groups operating in the West today", has found that Queens Public television provides a free platform for broadcasting the kind of propaganda found on Al Qaeda and Jihad recruiting sites such as Kavkaz and Azzam . The group has announced screenings of the Jihadist 'recruitment/incitement film 'Muslims (sic) Massacres'- and 'Life in Palestine'. Queens public television bills itself as:

QPTV (Queens Public Communications corporation) is not-for-profit private corporation serving the residents of Queens. QPTV manages the four public access channels on the cable TV systems for Queens, under the Franchise Agreements between the city of New York and the cable operators in the Borough of Queens. http://www.qptv.org/

MIM: According to the FCC, Public Access television does not fall under federal government regulations. The Queens Public Television is not permitted to screen any of the films prior to broadcasting and is obligated to give equal time. This means that a submission of Steve Emerson's 1993 documentary Jihad in America would have to be shown, and would any video which anyone submits as a 'public service announcement' which would, for example, alert the public to the Jihadist content of the films Muslim Massacres and Life in Palestine, as well as provide an expose of the group.

That being said, anyone who wants to express their concern at the showing of two Jihadist films by a group which supports suicide bombings and advocates the Islamisation of the United States should contact Homeland security and express their concerns, since the videos are intended as atrocity propaganda to galvanise Muslims to join Jihad.

MIM It should be noted that the website of the Islamic Thinkers Society has 'disappeared' which may be due to their high profile support of two teenage girls arrested in NYC on suspicion of being sucide bomber wannabes. The fact that the deceptively named 'documentaries' are being watched by an audience in Queens, is more proof that the NY borough is home to radical Islamists who need to be closely watched themselves.

MIM: The Intellectual Thinker Society aka Islamic Intellectuals Society : I think therefore I Islam...

A half year ago Al Muhajiroun in London, the radical Islamist group linked to Al Qaeda announced that they had 'closed for business', no doubt because one of their founders, Abu Hamza Al Masri, had been arrested and was awaiting trial on 16 terrorism related charges. After issuing a press release announcing the groups 'disbanding' it's leader, Omar Bakri Mohammed, went on the radio and internet urging it's members to join Al Qaeda and prepare for Jihad both in the UK and abroad. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/374

Members of the United States group, have also been arrested on terrorism charges.Mohammed Junaid Babar, whose mother had been in the World Trade Center on September 11th, gave an interview to a Canadian television crew, in Afghanistan, declaring his intentions to wage Jihad. When he returned to the United States, he was arrested . http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/156

The radical Islamist Al Muhajiroun, appears to have surfaced in Queens under the oxymoronic name of the Islamic Thinkers Society aka Intellectual Thinkers Society. The groups North American spokesman, Kamran Bokhari, is now working as a strategic analyst for Statfor - Strategic Forecasting Inc. run by George Friedman. Stratfor who also employs ex government counter terrorism analysts has dubbed Bokhari their " in house Jihadi"

MIM: It is interesting to note that yet another Queens Community institution which receives public funding has hosted a panel and exhibition which claims to highlight the 'plight' of Muslims in America. In this case it is the Queens Museum, owned by the city of New York which hosted a panel on April 7, 2005 entitled "Disappeared in America" and is funding an exhibition and 27 minute film which shows" the impact of special registration on 3 Muslims in a post 9/11 world" . Perhaps next month the Museum will see fit to host a 27,000 minute film showing the impact of not having special registration had on a pre 9/11 world ....
