Ceasefire Watch: Hundreds of Hamas Supporters Attempt to Invade Israel, Two Dead

Now with the ceasefire in place, all violence has finally come to an end. Aside from all the violence still going on.

The IDF stated that a group of about 300 Palestinians approached the border fence in the southern Gaza Strip and held a violent disturbance along the border.

A number of the Palestinians attempted to break through the border fence into Israel. IDF soldiers initially fired shots into the air, but when warnings were not heeded, shots were directed at the suspects' legs, according to the IDF.

One armed Palestinian was apprehended in Israeli territory after having crossed the fence and was returned to Gaza by soldiers, the IDF stated.

A Hamas spokesman accused Israel of violating the Egyptian-mediated truce and said the group would complain to Cairo.

A relative of the dead man, who was at the scene, told Reuters that Qdeih had been trying to place a Hamas flag on the fence. He added that an Israeli soldier had fired into the air three times before Qdeih was hit in the head by a bullet.

So hundreds of Hamas supporters try to break through into Israel. At least one of them armed. And it's Israel's fault. This is your ceasefire. Brought to you by the White House and its Islamist allies.

More Rioting on Gaza Border

IDF soldiers reportedly fired warning shots. Arabs: 3 wounded. By Gil Ronen First Publish: 11/25/2012, 7:06 PM

There was more rioting Sunday by Arabs near the fence separating Gaza and Israel.

Voice of Israel public radio reported that young Arabs approached the security fence near Khan Younis in the early evening, and that IDF soldiers fired warning shots in the air, as well as rubber-coated bullets toward whoever came too near to the fence.

The IDF Spokesman said that Arab claims that three of the rioters were injured are being looked into.

One Arab was reportedly killed on Friday in a similar incident along the Gaza fence.

Earlier Sunday, it was reported that Hamas had deployed police on Gaza's border with Israel over the weekend "to prevent incidents that could imperil a fresh truce."

Security forces "have been deployed along the Gaza Strip border to preserve the implementation of the truce," the spokesman for the Hamas interior ministry, Islam Shahwan, told AFP.
