U.S. Surrenders - Obama To Release Taliban Terrorists From GITMO

January 3, 2012

January 3, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The UK Guardian is reporting that the Obama administration has made the decision to release key members of the Taliban from detention at GITMO into the custody of representatives of the Afghan government.

"The US has agreed in principle to release high-ranking Taliban officials from Guantánamo Bay in return for the Afghan insurgents' agreement to open a political office for peace negotiations in Qatar, the Guardian has learned...the handful of Taliban figures will include Mullah Khair Khowa, a former interior minister, and Noorullah Noori, a former governor in northern Afghanistan. More controversially, the Taliban are demanding the release of the former army commander Mullah Fazl Akhund..." If true, this will mark a new low point in Team Obama's ignominious foreign policy.

Of note, today the Taliban announced that it has opened a diplomatic office in Qatar, the most likely purpose of which will be to finalize whatever negotiations Obama is pretending to be conducting with the enemy. As this news source has repeatedly pointed out, because of Mr. Obama's reckless national security policies, he holds zero leverage in these "negotiations," hence the result will be that the Taliban will dictate to the United States what our terms of surrender will be.

We are reminded of the line by NY poet/rocker Jim Carroll in "Nothing Is True."

"Things just go from bad to worse.
Starts like a kiss and ends like a curse.
...Nothing's true...everything is permitted..."
