December 23, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - If the report appearing in the Tennessean is correct, the Army's Junior ROTC program will now allow Muslims to don religious attire while in their military uniforms, including hijab.
"The Army will develop a policy allowing Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets to ask for permission to wear religious headdresses with their uniforms. The decision came in a letter dated Monday, the response to an October complaint filed by the Council of American-Islamic Relations on behalf of a Williamson County student." The decision came as a result of agitation by CAIR, named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the landmark terror financing prosecution, U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation [HLF]. As a result of this prosecution, CAIR has been linked in official documents to Hamas the Palestinian terrorist group which was the beneficiary of at least $12 million in contributions from the now defunct HLF.
"The government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA, NAIT, with NAIT, the Islamic Association for Palestine, and with Hamas, U.S. District Court Judge Jorge Solis said in the July 1, 2009, ruling." This stealthy, below the radar screen move by the Army is in keeping with Team Obama's efforts to "fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear..." [source, Barack Obama, June 4, 2009 Cairo speech, WH website, http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/remarks-president-cairo-university-6-04-09] which include purging government documents of any references linking Islamic ideology with terrorism as well as gagging military trainers who might have the temerity to speak the truth.
Of particular note, these radical policies are seldom officially announced, for fear of the understandable blow-back which they would generate. This allows government institutions, including the nation's military to slowly be brought into Shari'a compliance until it is an accomplished fact and therefore all the more difficult to reverse.
The decision was transmitted in a letter from Larry Subblefield, who is the deputy assistant secretary of the Army's diversity and leadership division, which obviously has far less concern regarding basic military preparedness than it does fielding an incompetent but inclusive army which will - should present trends continue - more resemble a multicultural circus than what was once the world's most feared fighting force.
