Radical Muslims In Switzerland Sport Yellow Jewish Badges In Protest

November 1, 2011

MIM: Another instance in which steath jihadist Muslims co opt the symbolism of the Holocaust to establish a false parity between their situation and the Nazi persecution of the Jews.

The Islamic Central Council of Switzerland states that their vision is "the development of Islam in Switzerland" via a three stage model. Below is stage three. Note that they present their view of what they call "universal ethics" as "thou shalt not kill" with a caveat writing that "Thou shalt not kill, without reason". http://www.izrs.ch/index.php/en/vision.html

III. Establishing Islam in Switzerland

The Islamic Central Council in Switzerland (ICCS) is anxious to actively assist Muslims in developing an "Islamic identity in the Swiss society". By this we mean the promotion of an active process of identity formation as "Swiss Muslims". Such a process is for example in England already running for many years quite successfully. Requirement is the efficient organization of practicing Muslims living here, and a permanent intellectual engagement with the question of identity at conferences and seminaries.

The ICCS should offer to the Muslims living here in the first place this organization platform. Under its umbrella, and through its activities the much neglected question of identity should be discussed incessantly. In this sense, we make a valuable contribution to the integration of Muslim immigrants.

Public recognition as a long term goal

After the institutionalization of Islam in Switzerland once has taken place in the fullest possible consensus the issue of public recognition of Islam in the cantons can and should be discussed again. Although a matter of the cantons, it is still recommended to await the establishment of nationwide unified structures, and then to implement paradigmatically on the model of the Reformed and Catholic state churches step by step the Islamic "Mosque country model" in the cantons. We reject uncoordinated solo running in the individual cantons as impractical. Regarding a national integration of uniform structures this way seems to us rather obstructive and inefficient.

* Universal Ethics: Of course, we don't understand this as a one-dimensional, Eurocentric defined construct. Rather we mean ethical principles that are at a given date, recognized in all cultures as valid. Example: Thou shalt not kill, without right.

MIM: The ICCS also offers "conversion certificates" free of charge as well as a free conversion service which is advertised on a webpage headed "Become Muslim!". They also provide the convert with a "Starter Kit" consisting of a prayer rug, a Koran, informational brochures and a small gift.Of course no mention is made that the penalty for "deconverting" is death.

Swiss Muslims have offended both fellow Muslims and Jews by wearing yellow badges, which Nazis forced on Jews, to protest discrimination.

However, there is one difference between the badges: The word "Muslim" was placed on them during a 200-strong Islamic protest in the city of Bern.

Other demonstrators carried a plastic replica of a mosque with minarets, which Switzerland recently has banned as an anti-Muslim mood grows in the country.

Two mainstream Muslim groups refused to participate in the demonstration, organized by conservative Muslims, according to the Jewish Telegraph Agency.

Edith Bino, president of the Jewish community in Bern, told the Basler Times that she found the use of the yellow star "so obviously wrong that it could not be taken seriously." Yves Kugelmann, editor in chief of the Jewish newspaper Tachles, said the symbols were "simply idiotic."

"It is regrettable when legitimate concerns are raised using false comparisons," Kugelmann told the Basler Times.

Nicolas Blancho, head of the Islamic Central Council, defended his choice of symbols, telling the Tages Anzeiger newspaper that "Muslims are treated as second-class citizens and are discriminated against, for example because they wear a headscarf or because of their name when they look for an apprenticeship or are looking for an apartment."

Laura Booth, a sister-in-law of the Quartet's Middle East envoy Tony Blair and who has converted to Islam, joined the protesters and wore as Muslim veil.

The anti-immigrant Swiss People's Party is gaining popularity in Switzerland and has pledged to stage a referendum that would enact Europe's most extreme ban on immigration. The party is expected to win approximately 30 percent of the vote in a general election this weekend, more than any other party.

The party already has campaigned to outlaw the "burka" and expel foreign-born criminals. It -sponsored last year's referendum banning the building of minarets.

  • MIM: The press release announcing the protest which is supposed to have "an appealing festival feel" and was "expected to be the largest Islamic festival ever to have occurred in Switzerland".One of the radical speakers was Laura Booth, the sister in law of former UK Prime MInister Tony Blair who reportedly sported a Muslim veil. At an "Al Quds Day" rally in London calling for the destruction of Israel,Booth ranted and proclaimed:

  • " We say here today to you, Israel, we see your crimes and we loathe your crimes. And to us your nation does not exist, because it is a criminal injustice against humanity. We want to see Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt go to the borders and stop this now. Liberate Al Quds! March to Al Quds!" http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/147264
