INDIVIDUALS NAMED IN DEFAMATORY LETTER TO CONGRESSMAN TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE TOMORROW AGAINST RADICAL MUSLIM GROUP, CAIR

WILL EXPOSE CAIR'S TIES TO HAMAS AND SUPPORT FOR HEZBOLLAH

(Pembroke Pines, FL) Four individuals, who were attacked this month in a letter sent to Congressman Allen West, will be speaking out against the radical Muslim group that authored the letter. The individuals, who are referred to in the letter as "anti-Islam extremists," will be holding a press conference tomorrow, Tuesday morning, outside the Muslim group's office in Pembroke Pines.

The letter was signed by Nezar Hamze and Hassan Shibly, the two leaders of the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). In 2007 and 2008, CAIR was named by the U.S. Justice Department as a co-conspirator for a terrorism trial dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. CAIR was created by Hamas operatives in 1994, under the guidance of then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. Recently the national organization lost its federal tax status.

The CAIR letter to West states, "Your association and continued support of Bridgette Gabriel, Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, Daniel Pipes, and Frank Gaffney are not consistent with your written words. These individuals have been identified as anti-Islam extremist [sic] that strategically participate in anti-Islam bashing and the grand infiltration narrative. You also have direct association with local extremist [sic] here in South Florida like Joyce Kaufman, Danita Kilcullen, Rev [O']Neil Dozier, and Joe Kaufman."

Also named in the letter was Citizens for National Security (CFNS), which held a Capitol Hill briefing with Congressman West in July.

Joe Kaufman, who has been involved in the counter-terrorism field for the past ten years and who is leading this effort, stated, "I'm proud of my work exposing persons and groups connected to anti-American and terrorist activity. The extremist label that Hamze and Shibly have placed on me and others, in their letter addressed to Congressman West, is more appropriately shared by Hamze and Shibly themselves."

In June, Nezar Hamze defended a mosque in Margate, Florida whose imam had just been arrested and charged with helping to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Taliban. Hassan Shibly has emphatically stated that Hezbollah is "not a terrorist organization" and has justified Hezbollah terror operations against Israelis.

The speakers will include:

Joe Kaufman, Candidate for U.S. Congress

Danita Kilcullen, Co-Director of Tea Party Fort Lauderdale

O'Neal Dozier, Pastor of the Worldwide Christian Center – Pompano Beach, Florida

Peter Lebowitz, Executive Director of Citizens for National Security

When: Tuesday, August 30th, 11:00 AM

Where: 1601 North Palm Avenue, Pembroke Pines, FL 33026
