Obama's Failed Middle East Strategy - Poll:Muslim World Hates U.S. More Now Than During Bush Years

July 15, 2011

July 13, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As if the quickening process of Islamizing the Middle East [led by the Muslim Brotherhood and other revolutionary jihadist entities] were not enough to give this administration pause for concern that its Muslim outreach has been a failure, a new poll by James Zogby, President of the Arab American Institute, certainly should.

The bad news is available at [http://www.aaiusa.org/reports/arab-attitutes-2011].

"After improving with the election of Barack Obama in 2008, U.S. favorable ratings across the Arab world have plummeted. In most countries they are lower than at the end of the Bush Administration, and lower than Iran's favorable ratings...Today, President Obama's favorable ratings across the Arab world are 10% or less. Obama's performance ratings are lowest on the two issues to which he has devoted the most energy: Palestine and engagement with the Muslim world..."

This dramatic turnabout in such short order suggests that rather than viewing Team Obama's initiative to the Ummah [the Muslim worldwide community] as a sign of accommodation, it has already rendered an opposing verdict.

We believe this is largely a matter of personal perceptions, in short many Muslims don't respect Obama. They view him as a weak appeaser who is disingenuous, abandons friends, coddles enemies and is unwilling to vigorously project American force to defend its interests.

Though it remains the stuff of conjecture whether Islamism can ever be reasonably engaged solely by diplomacy, it's clearly beyond the capability of this president.
