"Jordan is Palestine" Conference Planned in Israel

November 10, 2010

By BEILA RABINOWITZ

November 10, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Israel's National Union Party is planning a "Jordan Is Palestine" conference, designed to stimulate discussion about and alternatives to the much-vaunted "two state" solution, the backbone of the so-called Palestinian peace process.

Geert Wilders, leader of Holland's, Freedom Party is slated to be the keynote speaker. Wilders, is a vocal supporter of the Jewish state, having said that "If Israel falls, the West will fall too."

According to MK Aryeh Eldad of the National Union Party, "The purpose of the conference is to present an alternative plan to the two-state solution…. We are saying that there already is a Palestinian state, Jordan, 70% of whose residents are Palestinians. …"It already takes up three quarters of the territory of the British Mandate, so that the partition has already been carried out. We demand that Jordan be recognized as [the Palestinian state] formally, and not just de facto." [source, http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/140567]

A debate on this idea had been scheduled to be taken up by the Knesset last year but was dropped for fear it would "upset the Jordanians." The conference organizers hope that a high profile event on this hitherto suppressed subject will open the topic up for public discourse worldwide.
