Tariq Ramadan Suing Rotterdam Municipality over Firing

By BEILA RABINOWITZ

June 30, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Professor Tariq Ramadan, an Islamist and the grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan Al-Banna, is suing the municipality of Rotterdam for 75,000 Euros in compensatory damages claiming that his contract was illegally dissolved. His legal action is also fueled by claims that his "honor and dignity" have been impugned.

Ramadan was fired from his position as an integration advisor after he began appearing on a weekly Iranian government funded television show broadcast on Press TV.

Holland's Erasmus University where Ramadan occupied a special chair also broke with him after an earlier reprimand for allegedly making comments which were deemed hostile to homosexuals. Though Ramadan had been banned from entering the United States due to his terrorist ties, Secretary of State Clinton quietly restored his right to enter earlier this year.
