Disgraced ex-MP George Galloway Urges Breaking Gaza Blockade Via Syria and Jordan

June 8, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Former UK MP George Galloway whose Viva Palestina organization is coordinating another Gaza convoy which he vowed "will leave Britain shortly after the end of Ramadan in September and travel through Europe, down through Turkey and Syria into Jordan." He added that Viva Palestina - which has been accused of acting as a charity front for Hamas - will be sending a flotilla of boats to Gaza.
Galloway, controversial at best, has been linked to the U.N's infamous Oil for Food Scandal, about which the Heritage Foundation issued a report, partially quoted below:
The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) today unveiled new evidence on British Member of Parliament George Galloway's involvement in the Iraqi Oil-for-Food scandal. This latest report is a direct response to Mr. Galloway's testimony before the subcommittee on May 17, 2005. Galloway then firmly denied soliciting or receiving allocations of Iraqi crude oil from Saddam Hussein's regime, but the new evidence indicates otherwise. Apparently in appreciation for services rendered, Galloway was awarded honorary Palestinian citizenship in 2009 by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh who gave him a VIP passport. On June 4 Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah called for groups of all nationalities to form a "Freedom Flotilla II" promising that any Lebanese on board "will come home safe and sound."
Galloway's speech in front of the Israeli consulate on June 5 was punctuated by supporters shouts of Allahu Akhbar [God is great], a traditional Muslim war chant. [source, ibid
