University Of Amsterdam Cancels Event With Hizb Ut- Tahrir

The U of A has cancelled a gathering of the student group Al Furqan. A lecture was organised over the war in Gaza to which the terror organisation Hizb Ut Tahrir was invited and scheduled to take place Friday in one of the buildings of the educational institution .The speaker was going to claim that the only answer to the conflict was the foundation of an Islamic state. On top of that men and woman would sit separated.
According to a spokes person the student who had asked for permission to organise the gathering did not tell what would precisely happen. The university realised it only at the last moment.

Martin Bosma, PVV spokesperson for women's emancipation and higher education had immediately posed questions in writing to Minister Plasterk about the gathering. "This is unbelievable, that the U of A will allow segregation" grumbled Bosma. What should be a bastion of knowledge now glides off to become an institution where medieval practices take place. A terror organisation that may come there to plead for a Khalifate and also implements apartheid".

The speaker of the evening, Okay Pala belongs to the terror club Hizb ut- Tahrir. Pala has come in the news before because he had made death threats in the direction of Geert Wilders. Last year he said to the Telgraaf that his club rejects free expression and democracy. Hizb ut- Tahrir (Lib eration Party) finds that the whole world must come to stand under the flag of Islam. The AIVD has already said that the group is made up of radical Muslims.

UvA schrapt lezing terreurclub De Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) heeft een bijeenkomst geannuleerd van de islamitische studentenvereniging Al Furqan. Die zou vrijdag in een van de gebouwen van de onderwijsinstelling een lezing organiseren over de oorlog in Gaza, waarvoor terreurorganisatie Hizb ut-Tahrir was uitgenodigd. De spreker zou betogen dat de enige oplossing voor het conflict de stichting van een islamitische staat is. Mannen en vrouwen zouden bovendien gescheiden zitten.

Volgens een woordvoerder had de student die om toestemming had gevraagd om de bijeenkomst te organiseren, niet verteld wat er precies zou gaan gebeuren. Daar20kwam de universiteit pas op het allerlaatste moment achter. Martin Bosma, PVV-woordvoerder vrouwenemancipatie en hoger onderwijs, heeft meteen schriftelijke vragen gesteld aan minister Plasterk over de bijeenkomst. "Dit is niet te geloven, de UvA gaat segregatie toestaan", foetert Bosma. "Wat een bolwerk van wetenschap zou moeten zijn glijdt nu af naar een instituut waar middeleeuwse praktijken plaatsvinden. Een terreurorganisatie mag daar komen pleiten voor het kalifaat en past ook nog eens apartheid toe." De spreker van die avond, Okay Pala, behoort tot de terreurclub Hizb ut-Tahrir. Pala kwam eerder in het nieuws omdat hij doodsbedreigingen had geuit richting Geert Wilders. Hij zei vorig jaar tegen De Telegraaf dat zijn club de vrijheid van meningsuiting en de democratie verwerpt. Hizb ut-Tahrir (‘Bevrijdingspartij') vindt dat de hele wereld onder de vlag van de islam moet komen. De AIVD heeft al eerder gezegd dat de organisatie bestaat uit moslimradicalen.
