September 20, 2007 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As federal prosecutors summed up the government's case against the Holy Land Foundation [HLF] defendants, lead attorney Barry Jonas told jurors that the accused, Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain, Ghassan Elashi, Haitham Maghawri, Akram Mishal, Mufid Abdulqader and Adulrahman Odeh had engaged in a criminal conspiracy to raise millions of dollars for the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas, using the HLF as a front organization [note Akram Mishal and Mufid Abdulqader have not been located and are presumed to be fugitives].
Aside from the prospect of sending those responsible for this domestic effort to fund Hamas' murderous campaign of terror to jail for a long time [possibly life if the jury finds that death resulted from the defendants actions] the trial has produced nothing short of a treasure trove of information presented as evidentiary exhibits [some of which have been placed online by the [U.S. District Court - North Dallas District] which counter-terrorism researchers are pouring over to more fully understand the Islamist threat.
A key piece of evidence [government exhibit GX3-85] was seized over fifteen years ago in a 1991 raid on the Virginia residence of one of the HLF's unindicted co-conspirators. This official Muslim Brotherhood [Ikhwan] document half in Arabic, half in English, outlines an audacious plan whereby they hope to subjugate Western civilization under the yoke of a global Islamic theocracy, the caliphate, calling the means whereby that might be obtained a "Civilization-Jihadist Process."
Demonstrating a "100 year war" mindset, the strategic plan embellished one previously developed in 1987 and approved by the Muslim Shura Council, one designed to present "Islam as a civilizational alternative," in furtherance of "the global Islamic state."
This document and strategies eerily mirror those discovered in a November 2001 raid conducted in Campione, Switzerland [at the request of the Bush Justice Department, as part of the effort to shut down terror financiers] at the villa of Youssef Nada, the director of the Al-Taqwa Bank of Lugano, known for its long history of support for the Muslim Brotherhood.
As Front Page Magazine's Patrick Poole reported:
"such a document was recovered in a raid by Swiss authorities in November 2001, two months after the horror of 9/11. Since that time information about this document, known in counterterrorism circles as "The Project", and discussion regarding its content has been limited to the top-secret world of Western intelligence communities...The raid was conducted by Swiss law enforcement at the request of the White House in the initial crackdown on terrorist finances in the immediate aftermath of 9/11...Included in the documents seized during the raid of Nada's Swiss villa was a 14-page plan written in Arabic and dated December 1, 1982, which outlines a 12-point strategy to 'establish an Islamic government on earth1 - identified as The Project." The basic outline of "the Project" is as follows:
Put into action a 100 year plan for establishing the caliphate in the West taking advantage of the freedoms, protections and rights inherent in the liberal democracies for purposes of subverting the system. Avoid associating publicly with obvious terrorist groups so that the cultural jihadists can feign moderation. Employ al-takeyya, or religiously condoned deception, to mask their true goals. Strive to bring about conversion to Islam through intense programs of da'wa. Establish a Muslim-centric parallel infrastructure which includes Islamic centers/mosques, hospitals, schools, NGOs and other social institutions to create self-nourishing radical Muslim enclaves which will serve as a source of friction against the larger non-Muslim society. Build alliances with the left and other enemies of the West. Offer support for global jihad along with the funding to support it. Embark on a permanent and consistent campaign of propaganda to cause Muslims to resent the West, seeking to inflame and radicalize those most susceptible to such influence, a strategy which will also serve to marginalize and intimidate whatever true moderates there are.
The Holy Land Foundation strategy document [GX3-85] lists as "friends" of the Muslim Brotherhood nearly every major American Islamist group including ISNA, ICNA, NAIT, MSA and the IIIT. The Islamic Association for Palestine [IAP, the American public relations wing of Hamas] the group from which the Council on American Islamic Relation [CAIR] originated is also mentioned.
As noted in numerous previous writings, CAIR has been listed by Holy Land Foundation prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in the case. Their involvement with HLF is elemental, to extent that the Holy Land Foundation underwrote the opening of CAIR's Washington, DC office with a $5,000 contribution; a copy of the bank transfer for which is reproduced below.
As we noted in an August 21 piece:
"The organization [CAIR] grew out of the IAP, the Islamic Association of Palestine, the American PR wing for Hamas, with many of the IAP's key functionaries assuming similar positions with CAIR. CAIR is also inextricably tied to the Holy Land Foundation. Not only was Ghassan Elashi the party responsible for the terror fundraiser's incorporation, but the Washington, DC CAIR office was initially bankrolled by the HLF. According to evidence provided to PipeLineNews.org from Steven Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism, on October 31, 1994 the Holy Land Foundation made a wire transfer to CAIR. The purpose of this seed money was to help establish the group's Washington, DC office." CAIR's co-conspirator designation is viewed by many as perhaps a fatal public relations blow to the organization, permanently stripping it of the facade of moderation. Understanding this, CAIR took the risky and unusual gamble of petitioning the HLF judge, Joseph Fish to remove them from the co-conspirator listing, to no avail, as he ruled against them.
"Federal prosecutors are insisting that they properly labeled a prominent Muslim advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, as a participant in a criminal conspiracy to support Hamas. In a brief filed Tuesday night, prosecutors asked Judge A. Joe Fish in Dallas to reject an unusual motion from the council, also known as Cair, to strike its name and the names of all other groups and individuals from a list of unindicted co-conspirators filed in late May during the lead-up to the trial of five men on terrorism support charges." Given the weight of evidence it's clear that CAIR has historically been allied with Hamas. Moreover, CAIR is perhaps the best example of an American [Saudi funded] Islamist organization which is actively carrying out the Muslim Brotherhood's mandate, serving as a prime mover of the "Civilization-Jihadist Process."
Towards that end CAIR is involved in a myriad of legal actions, many of which involve serving as mouthpieces for terror suspects, including confessed terrorist Sami Al-Arian, at one point calling him "a respected leader in the community and a committed civil rights advocate."
However the reality in this matter was far different:
"A federal judge yesterday lambasted a former Florida college professor, Sami Al-Arian, as a liar and "master manipulator," before sentencing him to nearly five years in prison for providing support to a Middle Eastern terrorist group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad." Al-Arian and most likely his family will be deported after his term of incarceration is served.
Ahmed Bedier the Executive Director of the Tampa chapter of CAIR is currently serving as the spokesman for Youssef Megahed who along with fellow University of South Florida student Ahmed Mohamed was arrested on August 4 in close proximity to the Goose Creek Naval Weapons Station, the site of a military brig used to hold enemy combatants. The two are charged with being in possession of an explosive device, parts of which were in the car they were driving. Bedier has also appeared on Megahed's behalf before the Florida grand jury investigating the case.
Outside of the group's support of domestic terrorists, of perhaps greater concern is their recent stealth involvement in public education, as these writers noted in CAIR's Plans For KGIA - The Islamists' long term indoctrination strategy.
"Indicative of the extent to which Islamist groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations, CAIR desire access to public schools, a Front Page Magazine article dated today outlines two Ohio public charter schools which have come under its influence.Set within Columbus, Ohio's Somali immigrant community, these two charter schools, International Academy of Columbus and Westside Academy are establishing a template which finds CAIR's virulent ideology supplanting traditional pedagogy, with FPM author Patrick Poole stating that the schools:
"..are sponsored under an Ohio Department of Education contract with the Buckeye Community Hope Foundation and operated by a politically-connected group of Islamic extremists associated with both the national and Ohio chapters of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). At least one of the taxpayer-financed schools has been used during the last school year to play host to an anti-Israel CAIR-OH "teach-in"…Sadly, these refugees have arrived only to find the warlords and clan leaders in charge of the very public and private institutions here in the US intended to help them resettle and adjust to life in their new home..." In a document obtained as part of a Freedom of Information lawsuit against the NY Dept of Education, KGIA's Executive Summary makes it clear that CAIR has already insinuated itself into the curricula, via internships offered by AMAL, a group of Muslim attorneys which is tied to CAIR.
"Students will also participate in community service projects in which they can put what they have learned into practice. Our community partners will support leadership development. The American Muslim Association of Lawyers and the Salaam Club will offer internships in offices and law firms" [pg. 7, KGIA Executive Summary].AMAL is so closely allied with CAIR that its NY Executive Director, Omar Mohammedi actually owns the AMAL website domain.

Registrant Email:[email protected]There can be no doubt that CAIR is playing a lead role in the Muslim Brotherhood's plan, "destroying Western civilization from within...sabotaging their miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."
Allowing them not only access to the Khalil Gibran International Academy but giving them the ability to train students in CAIR's subversive ideology through internships represents a clear, present and future danger that must be halted.
Simply removing CAIR from this particular school is not enough, though that action is overdue, because when and if that happens, another organization with similar intent, perhaps ISNA, ICNA or the Muslim American Society will take up the slack and move into the void.
The fact is that KGIA was designed to function from the outset as an Islamist indoctrination center - a madrassah - by its departed principal Dhabbah Almontaser and unfortunately, though the architect is gone, her hate factory lives on and therefore the only solution is to close the school permanently.
This struggle to deny subversive forces such as CAIR access to our most important institutions is really part of a larger effort, as Daniel Pipes has stated, "a clash of civilization and barbarism."
The outcome of this conflict will determine the future of the West, testing whether our traditional culture has sufficient physical, intellectual and moral courage to defend itself.
The threat is real; where the Islamists are strong and conditions favorable to them they wage a psychological campaign of brutal, bloody and unforgiving jihad against innocents designed to break their will.
In Europe and North America where their presence is less numerous, they diligently wage a stealth or soft jihad based upon the template developed by the Muslim Brotherhood. That plan allows them to cloak themselves in the freedoms and protections that are the basis of self-government in the West to destroy the system from the inside out, striving to put in place the organizational infrastructure to perpetuate the goal of Islamization.
The Islamists are additionally strengthened because they have learned to take advantage of our devotion to post-modernist thought - moral relativism and multiculturalism - which disarm liberal societies, stripping them of the ability to recognize and voice threats and then intellectually defend themselves against a ruthless and committed enemy.
