Geert Wilders of the Party for Freedom feels intimidated by a discussion he had with Tjibee Joustra, the National Counterterrorism Coordinator. Wilders finds that he was taken to task for his remarks about Islam.
The security service apparently said that because of Wilders remarks, Ayatollahs have threatened with economic sanctions against Holland and the recalling of ambassadors.
The security services have denied that they have attempted to get Wilders to tone down his remarks: " We distance ourselves from any attempts being made to link the NCC to intimidation and efforts to silence someone" according to a spokesman.
The talk had been arranged to talk with Wilders about his security situation,but Wilders had the impression that he had also come for something else. "On top of that there was a message between the lines "can't this be done in a different way?"
Many Muslims are angry at Wilders remarks about Islam. He has said for example,that Muslims must tear out half of the Koran in order to stay in Holland.
According to Wilders the security services told him that the discussions about his remarks had reached a point where riots could erupt similiar to those that took place after the Danish drawing of the Prophet Mohammed. An Islamic cleric also issued a fatwa,a command to kill someone.
The Lower House is demanding an explanation from the Justice Ministry regarding the discussion.

Geert Wilders van de PVV voelt zich geïntimideerd door een gesprek dat hij had met Tjibbe Joustra, Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding. Wilders vindt dat hij op het matje is geroepen over zijn uitspraken over de islam.
Zo zou de veiligheidsdienst hebben gezegd dat door Wilders' uitspraken, Ayatollahs hebben gedreigd met economische sancties tegen Nederland en het terugroepen van ambassadeurs.
De veiligheidsdienst ontkent dat ze Wilders hebben geadviseerd te matigen met zijn uitspraken: "Iedere relatie die wordt gelegd tussen de NCTb en intimidatie en de mond snoeren, werpen we verre van ons", zei een woordvoerder.
Het gesprek was geregeld om met Wilders te praten over zijn veiligheidssituatie, maar Wilders had het idee dat hij ook voor iets anders moest komen: "Daarnaast was er tussen de regels door ook een andere boodschap: Kan het niet op een andere manier?"
Veel Moslims zijn boos over Wilders' uitspraken over de Islam. Hij zei bijvoorbeeld dat moslims de helft uit de Koran moeten scheuren om in Nederland te mogen blijven.
Volgens Wilders heeft de veiligheidsdienst gezegd dat de discussie over zijn uitspraken zo hoog opliep dat rellen zoals na de Deense spotprenten over de profeet Mohammed opnieuw hadden kunnen ontstaan. Ook zou een Islamitische geestelijke een fatwa, een oproep om iemand te doden, hebben uitgeroepen.
De Tweede Kamer wil van de minister van Justitie uitleg over het gesprek.

Justice Minister Ernst Hirsh Ballin (CDA) reacted "totally surprised' by the news that Party PVV- leader Geert Wilders feels intimidated by the National Counter Terrorism Coordinator Tjibbe Joustra. This according to the policy maker Friday after the close of discussions with Ministers.
On Thursday it was clear that Wilders had been taken to task by Joustra as a result of the outraged reactions to his remarks aobut the Koran and the Prophet Mohammed.
"There is no question that Wilders is able to express himself freely" said Hirsch Ballin. According to him the meeting was informative and lasted shorter then three hours as Wilders claimed.
In February the PVV chairman said that Muslims who wanted to stay in Holland had to tear out half of the Koran. Joustra showed Wilders hundreds of newspapers articles and news clippings and said that Holland has barely escaped the kind of riots which followed the Danish cartoons.
Wilders said Thursday that during the meeting one of Joustra's staff members asked he could be less outspoken. At that point Joustra told the staff member he was out of bounds. Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende (CDA) discussed the the comments of WIlders during a weekly press conference at the conclusion of the Minister's discussion. "If I go by the words of Geert Wilders himself, it proves that there was no intimidation on the part of Joustra", said Balkenende.
Balkende said that it did cross his mimd that this would " would be a chance to reassess his own security situation". "But that is up to Wilders himself".

(Novum) - Minister van Justitie Ernst Hirsch Ballin (CDA) reageert 'volstrekt verrast' op berichten dat PVV-leider Geert Wilders (PVV) zich geïntimideerd voelt door de Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding (NCTb) Tjibbe Joustra. Dat zei de bewindsman vrijdag na afloop van de ministerraad.
Donderdag werd duidelijk dat Wilders twee weken geleden door Joustra op het matje is geroepen vanwege woedende reacties op zijn uitspraken over de koran en de profeet Mohammed.
'Ik laat er geen twijfel over bestaan dat Wilders zich gewoon moet kunnen uitdrukken', zei Hirsch Ballin. Volgens hem was de ontmoeting met Joustra informatief van aard en duurde het gesprek korter dan drie uur, zoals Wilders beweerde.
De PVV-voorman zei in februari dat moslims die in Nederland willen blijven de helft van de koran moeten verscheuren. Joustra heeft Wilders honderden krantenartikelen en tv-beelden getoond met woeste reacties op zijn opmerkingen en zou hebben gezegd dat Nederland maar net ontsnapt is aan een rel zoals die rond de Deense spotprenten.
Wilders zei donderdag dat tijdens de bijeenkomst een medewerker van Joustra vroeg of hij niet wat gas wilde terugnemen. Daarop floot Joustra de medewerker volgens Wilders direct terug. Premier Jan Peter Balkenende (CDA) ging tijdens de wekelijkse persconferentie na afloop van de ministerraad in op de uitspraken van Wilders. "Als ik afga op de woorden van Geert Wilders zelf, dan bewijst dat, dat het geen intimidatie kan zijn van Joustra", zei Balkenende.
Balkenende zei nog wel zich af te vragen 'hoe opportuun het is om in te gaan op de eigen veiligheidssituatie'. 'Maar dat is aan Wilders zelf.'
