New Dutch goverment terrorism report "radicalisation on the increase" "Muslim marriage brings young girl converts into terror network "

MIM: More informal marriages by Muslim extremists

Radicalised Muslim youth in Holland are making more use of informal marriages whereby very young girls who have converted to Islam are falling under the the influence of muslim extremist networks. So wrote the ministers Hirsh Ballin (CDA Justice) and Minister Johan Remkes (WWD Internal Affairs) in the fifth report "Progress in Terrorism Prevention" which they sent to the Lower House on Tuesday. The influence of the extreme Islamic sect of Salafism is also growing, so write the ministers, and the radicalisation of Muslim youth is increasing, with so called living room marriages binding young very young female converts to male Muslim extremists. They also radicalise, and the marriages are usually of short duration.
The threat level for attacks of Muslim terrorists on Netherlands soil remains "substantial". As of now there are no concrete indications of an attack, but Holland become more high profile in the eyes of Muslim extremists.
The report cited the news coverage of the supposed 'use of torture' by Dutch military and Iraq, the presence in Afghanistan and the international oproar over the proposed burqa ban.

Radicaliserende moslimjongeren in Nederland maken steeds vaker gebruik van informele huwelijken, waarbij zeer jonge, tot de islam bekeerde meisjes onder invloed raken van moslimextremistische netwerken.
Dat schrijven ministers Ernst Hirsch Ballin (CDA, Justitie) en minister Johan Remkes (VVD, Binnenlandse Zaken) in de vijfde Voortgangsrapportage Terrorismebestrijding (pdf) die zij woensdag naar de Tweede Kamer hebben gestuurd.
Substantieel
De invloed van de extremistische islamitische stroming van het salafisme neemt toe, zo schrijven de ministers, en de radicalisering van moslimjongeren gaat gestaag verder. Met zogenaamde huiskamerhuwelijken binden mannelijke moslimextremisten zeer jonge bekeerlingen aan zich. Die radicaliseren zelf ook, al duren de huwelijken meestal kort.
Het dreigingsniveau voor aanslagen van moslimterroristen op Nederlandse bodem blijft 'substantieel'. Er zijn weliswaar geen concrete aanwijzingen voor een aanslag, maar internationaal heeft Nederland zijn profiel onder moslimextremisten verscherpt.
De rapportage noemt de berichtgeving over vermeende 'martelpraktijken' van Nederlandse militairen in Irak, de aanwezigheid in Afghanistan, en de internationale ophef over het voorgenomen burqaverbod.
