MIM:Speech by Yusaf Isahi at Muslim Youth Day 2000 at Six Flags Amusement Park is an indication of what can be expected at this year's "Muslim Only Great Adventure Day"and leaves no doubt as to the Islamic Circle of North America's Islamist agenda: 'Jihad through Da'wa' - (converting non Muslims to Islam ).

"The owner of the Six Flags Great Adventure never imagined even in his wildest dreams that a mere recreation area of this kind would be filled with Allah's praise; that speeches on the subject of Islam would be delivered; Dawah towards Islam be given; Allah (SWT) would be remembered; the cries of Allahu Akbar would be heard everywhere. Young men and women dressed Islamically with sound knowledge of their beliefs and practices would represent Islam and hear greetings of "Assalaamu Alaikum" everywhere. Any amount of thanks is but little for the gift, favor honor and guidance that we have received from Allah (SWT). In thankfulness to Allah, we should fall down prostrating: O Lord! this is nothing but Your Benevolence and Mercy. O Allah! it is Your promise that the one who is thankful receives even more from Your bounties. "la in shakrthum la azeedanna kum"... (complete text below or click on URL).

Your job of introducing Islam, introducing your purpose, goals and introducing yourself should be kept ongoing and continues. This is your mission for today. And it is for this mission that you must sacrifice your life. Allah (SWT) is your Protector and Helper. May your tongue always be busy in the remembrance of Allah (SWT) and may it always show the commitment you have made. http://www.whyislam.org/aa/nov00/index.asp?article_id=10

A popular North American amusement park is scheduled to host a "Great Muslim Adventure Day" this week in which the park will be open only to Muslims, drawing fire from various monitor groups, WorldNetDaily has learned.

The Muslim Youth Division of the Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim American Society, two of the largest Muslim organizations in America, has arranged exclusive use of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J., for the entire day Friday.

The ICNA website boasts, "First Time Ever – All Day – Entire Park Exclusively for Muslims!"

The event is designed to "provide entertainment for the entire family!" says the site. Imam Zaid Shakir will lead the Friday afternoon prayers at 2 p.m., the comedy routine "Allah Made Me Funny" will show twice, Comedian Azhar Usman will perform, and "Alhamdulillah, the entire park is reserved for Muslims only!"

The organization expects more than 10,000 Muslims.

Debbie Nauser, vice president of public relations for the Six Flags theme park, confirmed the park would be open only for "Muslims and their friends."

Six Flags has previously hosted other event days, including an annual Passover theme in which the park is predominantly filled with Orthodox Jews, but the venue is still open to outsiders and seasonal ticket holders, and organizers of previous events have never claimed exclusivity of the park.

"The exclusionary nature of the event, which disallows anyone but Muslims from being present on the fairgrounds, raises questions about the legality of permitting only members of one faith in what is a public venue," said Beila Rabinowitz, director of Militant Islam Monitor.

"Militant Islam Monitor calls on the management of Six Flags amusement park to disallow this discrimination on its property. And MIM calls on the State of New Jersey to cancel this 'Muslims Only' event."

Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, said "it is scandalous that Six Flags – a publicly held corporation whose stock trades on the NYSE – allows such a restriction for access to its property. It's fine for a Muslim organization to sponsor a day at the theme park, it's quite another to proclaim it for Muslims only, as ICNA does. "

The ICNA has drawn much controversy to itself in recent years. WorldNetDaily attended a conference in Orlando, Fla., sponsored in part by the ICNA, which featured a main speaker who voiced empathy and support for suicide bombers, denied Muslims were involved in 9-11, characterized the war on terror as a conspiratorial Zionist plot designed to destroy Islam and Muslims, and blamed attacks on affirmative action on "the rise of the Jewish cracker."

Judicial Watch says the ICNA has ties to Hamas, and terrorism expert Steve Emerson stated: "The ICNA's hatred of the Jews is so fierce that it taunted them with a repetition of what Hitler did to them."

In his book, "American Jihad," Emerson writes: "The ICNA openly supports militant Islamic fundamentalist organizations, praises terror attacks, issues incendiary attacks on Western values and policies, and supports the imposition of Sharia [Islamic code of law]."

Sep. 14th, 2004 -- On Sept. 17, Six Flags Great Adventure will host a "Muslim Day," similar to other themed days that both GAdv and many other amusement parks have held. However Muslim Day has a created a storm that no other event day has yet.

On Muslim Day, the park will be open only to Muslims and their friends. Typically on themed days all visitors are welcome. Several groups have labeled the decision discriminatory, particularly for a publicly traded company like Six Flags.

The day itself is not the only source of controversy. One of the event's organizers, the Islamic Circle of North America, has sponsored speakers who glorify suicide bombers, deny Muslim involvement in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and proclaim America's war on terror to be a Jewish plot. The ICNA also has is alleged to have ties to the terror group Hamas and to have a hatred of Jews similar to that of the Nazis.

An Islamic group is backing off its boast of a Muslims-only day at a popular theme park, just hours after WND brought to light plans for the "Great Muslim Adventure Day."

The article prompted numerous responses from WND readers who informed Six Flags they would stop attending its amusement parks.

The Muslim Youth Division of the Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim American Society, two of the largest Muslim organizations in America, had said they arranged exclusive use of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J., for the entire day Friday. The ICNA website declared, "First Time Ever – All Day – Entire Park Exclusively for Muslims!"

Debbie Nauser, vice president of public relations for the Six Flags theme park, confirmed yesterday to WorldNetDaily the park would be open only for "Muslims and their friends."

Six Flags has hosted other event days, including an annual Passover theme in which the park is predominantly filled with Orthodox Jews, but the venue remains open to outsiders and seasonal ticket holders, and organizers of previous events never have claimed exclusive use of the park.

But following the WND story, the ICNA website removed all references to exclusive use of the park, and Nauser said the park would not be used exclusively by the Muslim groups.

The original ICNA invitation said the event is designed to "provide entertainment for the entire family! Imam Zaid Shakir will lead the Friday afternoon prayers at 2 p.m., the comedy routine 'Allah Made Me Funny' will show twice, Comedian Azhar Usman will perform, and 'Alhamdulillah,' the entire park is reserved for Muslims only!"

The organization expected more than 10,000 Muslims.

WND informed Nauser it recently attended an ICNA-sponsored event featuring a main speaker who voiced empathy and support for suicide bombers, denied Muslims were involved in 9-11, characterized the war on terror as a conspiratorial Zionist plot designed to destroy Islam and Muslims and blamed attacks on affirmative action on "the rise of the Jewish cracker." Also, she was told Judicial Watch charges ICNA has ties to Hamas.

But Nauser told WND that before Six Flags booked the group, they received an okay from the local FBI.

Militant Islam Monitor relates that ICNA held a conference at Liberty Bell Park in Philadelphia intended to provide Muslims with "ammunition" for Da'was (spreading of Islam) and urged women to avoid the "glamorous" and "independent" life in North America.

One month before 9-11, the Muslim Youth group opened a "Jihad Camp," which was intended to "educate the youth and provide them with a proper understanding of Jihad."

The cost of the camp was $200, which included transportation, food and accommodations. Attendees were asked to sign a waiver form and were reportedly told, "Many knowledgeable people will come and teach us. Many important lessons await."

In 2000, Muslim Youth leader Tayabb Yunus urged parents at an ICNA conference to "send your children to fight Jihad in Chechyna

WorldNetDaily received a flurry of e-mails from readers who said they called Six Flags to cancel their season passes or to say they'd stop going to the amusement park.

Reader Don Terry wrote, "I did in fact contact Debbie Nauser. I informed her that although I'd visited the Vallejo park many times over the years, I wouldn't be returning, ever. She basically said she didn't care."

Reader Austin Travis wrote, "It is wrong to even do business with a 'terrorist' supporting group ... . All business entities in America should never do business with any organization that supports terrorism. This means every business needs to get busy knowing which ones are this way. I think these theme park people at 'Six Flags of America' are actually bringing reproach upon the 6 flags that they represent!"

A company in Virginia Beach, Va., Motorbyte LLC, told WND it contacted Six Flags to return 30 corporate season passes.

Sept. 10, 2004 update: The New Jersey branch of the Islamic Circle of North America ("The organization of Islamic Workers!") announces that Sept. 17 will be "The Great Muslim Adventure Day" at the local Six Flags Great Adventure Park. Not only is "This event is designed to provide entertainment for the entire family!" not only will Imam Zaid Shakir lead the Friday prayers at 2 p.m., and not only will the comedy routine "Allah Made Me Funny" show twice, but "Alhamdulillah, the entire park is reserved for Muslims only!" If that message is not clear enough, the advertisement also states "First Time Ever! Entire park exclusively for Muslims!" One wonders how the organizers know who is a Muslim or not. Need one recite the shahada to enter the fairgrounds? It is scandalous that Six Flags – a publicly held corporation whose stock trades on the NYSE – allows such a restriction for access to its property. Oh, and will the employees also have to be Muslim?

Sept. 15, 2004 update: Aaron Klein wrote about the "Muslims only!" policy at Six Flags Great Adventure on Sept. 13 and included a statement from a Six Flags executive stating that the park would be reserved for "Muslims and their friends" (a very different and quite acceptable formulation); Klein also quotes comments by Beila Rabinowitz (who first raised alarms about this issue) and myself disapproving of the ICNA statement. Within hours of his article appearing, Klein today reports, "the ICNA website removed all references to exclusive use of the park," and indeed that is what one finds at its overhauled website. So, good news: entrants to the park will not have to establish their Muslim identities to enter the property. www.danielpipes.org

Muslim Youth Trip to Saudi Arabia

MIM: From the Young Muslims newsletter

http://www.ymsite.com/newsletters/newsletter4.html

Movementation: The task of the movement

The General Task: Universal Outreach

The Islamic movement is a universal organization that reaches out to encompass the workers in the Islamic field all over the world. This outreach is a precondition for success in conveying purely and clearly the Islamic message in ways relevant to the needs of the present time. This outreach is designed to call people to Islam, strengthen their belief in it, and organize them to work and to wage jihad in its cause.

In order to establish Islam functionally in the world the Islamic movement must strive against the thoughts and philosophies left over from colonialism, whether of European socialism or American capitalism, until the Ummah or Muslim community can recover its independence and genuine identity. From the very inception, the Islamic movement has been almost obsessed with the need to purify Islam from the garbage of unlawful innovations and superstitions, and to introduce it to the people of the world in a pure form worthy of its excellence and greatness above all contending religions and ideologies.

The Muslim Youth Camps are run by ICNA and MAS , two groups behind the establishment of the Universal Heritage Foundation in Kissimmee Florida.

The Muslim Camp Theme was entitled "A Few Good Men". Another scheduled speaker was the web administrator for the UHF, Tayebb Yunus, more proof of "zero degrees of separation' between groups like Al Qaeda , and major Muslim organisations.

The youth camps used to be called "Jihad Camps" and "Afterlife Camps"

Man Accused of Aiding Terrorists Called 'Moderate'

By Susan Schmidt and Michelle Garcia Washington Post Staff Writers

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J., Aug. 11 -- Mazen Mokhtar, a computer professional trained at Johns Hopkins University, is a familiar face to young activist Muslim men in New Jersey, often delivering what acquaintances describe as mild speeches extolling marriage and religious piety.

But Wednesday, Mokhtar, an Egyptian-born American citizen, found himself issuing a statement denying government accusations that he has aided violent terrorists. Some of those who know him expressed surprise at allegations that he worked with a British man who is accused of soliciting funds for terrorism by operating jihadist Web sites.

"I do not support and I have never supported any action that harms innocent people," Mokhtar, 36, said in the statement, released by his attorney. "I have never knowingly assisted any terrorist group."

Mokhtar has often lectured to youth groups at mosques, has spoken at Rutgers University rallies supporting the Palestinian cause and was invited to speak later this month at a summer camp run by the Young Muslims of North America.

"From our experience, he is a very nice guy," said Omar Ranginwala, an official with the Young Muslims group who is involved with the camp. Mokhtar, a father of three, is "soft-spoken and not known to have been associated with extremist views or Web sites."

"We are all very surprised that this thing came up," he said. At this point, group members "don't have much knowledge about it."

This year's camp is to be held at Villanova Academy, an Islamic school in Pennsylvania, and its theme is "A Few Good Men/Lives of the Khulafa Rashideen (Pious Caliphs)."

Before the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the group's summer gatherings were called "Jihad Camp." Advertised speakers in August 2001 included Imam Siraj Wahaj, identified by federal prosecutors in 1995 as a "possible unindicted co-conspirator" in the terrorism case against blind sheik Omar Abdel Rahman and Saffet Catovic, a Bosnian associated with the Benevolence International Foundation, a now-defunct Muslim charity accused by the U.S. government of financing terrorism.

"It was to help them to understand what the concept of jihad really is," said Ranginwala, saying that it is more about a struggle to live a faithful life than about engaging in holy war.

Mokhtar's lawyer, Yasser Helal, confirmed that Mokhtar has been under investigation by U.S. authorities since at least March, when Homeland Security agents seized computer files and other records in a search of Mokhtar's North Brunswick, N.J., home. Helal said he was not prepared to discuss the investigation or to comment on allegations that Mokhtar worked with British citizen Babar Ahmad to create backup copies of the jihadist Azzam.com Web site when administrators shut down that site after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

In court papers filed in the case, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent contends that "a concerted effort existed between the administrators of Azzam, including Ahmad, and individuals in the U.S. . . . to further the goals of Azzam, that is, to solicit funds for blocked organizations, namely the Taliban and the Chechen Mujahideen, in an effort to support their goals."

Ahmad was swept up in a recent international wave of arrests of suspected al Qaeda operatives, some accused of involvement in scouting financial targets in the United States. Ahmad allegedly possessed classified routes of a 2001 U.S. naval battle group and is believed to be linked to captured al Qaeda mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

Although Mokhtar is not named in the complaint filed by U.S. authorities against Ahmad, a Web site that Mokhtar registered and administered, www.minna.com, is cited.

Helal said Mokhtar wants to cooperate in the probe. He said authorities returned computer files and records to him two weeks after their search, but he believes they have made copies of the material.

Neighbors in Mokhtar's North Brunswick townhouse community said they had seen authorities searching his home earlier this year but knew little of his activities. One said small groups of men dressed in robes occasionally dropped by at night. He described the Mokhtar family as friendly but said they kept their distance.

Nearby, in a working-class area of New Brunswick, about two dozen men filed into the storefront Masjid Al-Huda mosque Wednesday for midday prayers. Imam Abdul Basit, who came from Pakistan three years ago, said Mokhtar occasionally leads the Friday prayers.

"We sometimes invite him to come and give [a] sermon," Basit said. "If we knew from any day that he is saying something bad, we would stop him immediately." But, he said, "I never hear anything bad, only how we can be a good Muslim."

Magdy Mahmoud, president of the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said Mokhtar is one of many young men on the lecture circuit, "a wise man in the community, a humble man." Mahmoud said Mokhtar visited several mosques in New Jersey and was not affiliated with just one.

Mahmoud said Mokhtar distinguished himself by the "balanced views" he presented to his audience. "People with radical views don't usually attract large audiences," he said.

Mohamed Younes, president of the American Muslim Union in Paterson, N.J., said Mokhtar's lectures there were benign. "Compared to others, he was much more moderate," Younes said.

THE GREAT MUSLIM ADVENTURE DAY

A Historic Day for Muslims

Shaikh Yusuf Islahi's speech
given on Muslim Youth Day
Sept 9, 2000
Great Adventure, NJ

On Saturday, September 9, 2000, ICNA (Northeast region) organized the Muslim Youth Day with great zest and spirit at the Six Flags Great Adventure theme park. On the evening of this memorable day, the main session was held in the North Star arena. Eminent American and international speakers expressed their ideas and warmed the hearts of the audience. The whole stadium resounded with the shouts of "Allahu Akbar". The last speech, given by renowned scholar Shaikh Yusuf Islahi, was very enlightening but had to be shortened due to time constraints. Following is the complete speech for our readers:

MIM: Historic Day for Muslims :Muslim Youth Day 2000 at Six Flags Amusement Park

"Your job of introducing Islam, introducing your purpose, goals and introducing yourself should be kept ongoing and continues. This is your mission for today. And it is for this mission that you must sacrifice your life. Allah (SWT) is your Protector and Helper. May your tongue always be busy in the remembrance of Allah (SWT) and may it always show the commitment you have made."

All praises are for Allah (SWT), the Exalted, the Great. May peace and blessings be on the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and his companions.

Respected brothers and sisters:

Assalaamu Alaikum!

I thank Allah (SWT) with all sincerity Who brought me here across the seven seas to participate in this great gathering to share in your happiness, Who gave me an opportunity to address thousands of young men and women and the honor of expressing my warm feelings towards you. It is indeed a gift from Allah (SWT) that you were able to celebrate historic "Muslim Youth Day".

The owner of the Six Flags Great Adventure never imagined even in his wildest dreams that a mere recreation area of this kind would be filled with Allah's praise; that speeches on the subject of Islam would be delivered; Dawah towards Islam be given; Allah (SWT) would be remembered; the cries of Allahu Akbar would be heard everywhere. "la in shakrthum la azeedanna kum":

I congratulate those young people who were determined to celebrate this day and please Allah (SWT). I also congratulate those elders who put their sons and daughters on this path, supported them morally and spiritually, and encouraged them to work in the mission of introducing Allah's Message. May Allah accept our endeavors. Ameen.

Youth is the essence of life. This is the period when one makes major decisions in life. One has the strength to pursue huge missions. The period of youth is, filled with high spirits, hot blood, plenty of desires, free of many shackles and has the power to make revolutionary decisions in life.

This is why Allah (SWT) and Prophet Muhammad (saws) have given special importance to this period in life. Great events in history and golden eras of time are decorated with the feats of the youth. Youth is the essence of life and our ummah's wealth. Rasulullah (saws) said that on the day of judgment one the five questions that every son and daughter of Adam will be asked will be about the youth.

"How did you spend your youth?"

Fortunate are those youth who spend their prime age in the path of Allah, who spend their days and nights in Islamic activities. A hadeeth in Bukhari assures youth who strive in the service of Allah (SWT) of a special reward. Seven kinds of people will be under the shade of Allah (SWT) on a day when there will be no shade other than Allah's. Among those fortunate seven will be those who were brought up in the service of Allah (SWT).

Youth are the mirror of a nation's destiny. To know whether a nation's future is bright and promising or bleak and lamentable, take an account of its young men's lives. Scan their desires, wishes, hobbies and aspirations. Look at their character and behavior, their achievements and activities. Take an account of their prayers.

These youth on who rests our ummah's future are not just our boys but also our girls. Do not forget or ignore these young girls and boys. Both play a role in their respective arenas in framing our future.

We are celebrating Muslim Youth Day with three main goals. Keep all three in perspective. Think seriously of how to achieve all of them.

Goal # 1: Introduce Islam

Remember! This introduction will also be from your character, your actions, your movements, your behavior, treatment to others, from your conversation and speech, in the manner you present, your food, your attire, your activity, cleanliness, discipline, personal hygiene, firm standing and seriousness at work.

The carefully weighed and judged talk of our speakers and the clear picture of Islam presented will also have an effect. Also the frequent remembrance of Allah (SWT) when you go about your activities and duties, the love and concern you show for Allah's servants will go a long way.

Islam states that all of mankind is from the same tribe, and are the children of one father and mother. It teaches us to love everyone. It doesn't teach us to hate anyone. It teaches us to believe, love and respect all the Prophets (may Allah be pleased with them). Your faith is incomplete if you reject any of them. Islam is the only religion that gives equality to the whole humanity, regards everyone with equal respect. This is the only religion that the whole of mankind can be brought together on the principle of Tawheed, the worship of Allah alone, and belief in all the Prophets! This is the very basis on which all religions and humanity can be brought together.

Goal # 2: Introduce your role and mission

Unlike the past ummahs, you are entrusted with a special purpose. The same way that the Prophets were raised, Allah (SWT) has sent you for the guidance and success of humanity.

Allah (SWT) has favored you as the best of ummahs and has said "ukhrijat linnas." You are the ummah of the last Prophet and Messenger. There will not be any Messenger after Prophet Muhammad (saws) until the day of Judgment. The task of spreading the message will remain until the last day, and Allah has a chosen the Muslim ummah to convey the Message to everyone. You are the result of the acceptance of Prophet Abraham's prayers. The Quran has addressed you as "kuntum khaira ummatin ukhrijatlinnas........."

Today we are celebrating this day to accomplish this mission and fulfill its duties and remind Muslims of their forgotten responsibility. This is certainly a huge honor that Allah (SWT) has given you. No doubt such a high status is a great honor but with it comes certain responsibilities and obligations. Certainly such honor and greatness goes only to those who fulfill their duties and obligations. Those who fail to fulfill their obligations are the ones in manifest error who deserve the anger and punishment of Allah (SWT). Those who rightfully fulfill their duties are the ones who receive this great honor and high status.

Goal # 3: Introduce Yourself

Your third goal of celebrating this day is to convey that you are a peace-loving group and that you strive for the good and success of mankind. You have declared that the propaganda against us done by our enemies is nothing but blasphemy. Under the label of fundamentalism, Muslims are being publicized as terrorists, mischief-makers and violent. All of this is nothing but blasphemy and a pack of blatant lies. After all, on the streets of Great Adventure all these numerous Muslim men and women, young boys and girls moved around with smiling faces greeting one another with Assalaamu Alaikum, peace and blessing for everyone, prayers of goodness and forgiveness on their lips for everyone and welcoming all with open arms. This whole atmosphere, our behavior as a group, our dignified dress, including these well covered young girls and women will serve as a lesson, and cast an example for those present here and also to the rest of the population of this country. Muslims are a peace-loving group who spread the message of the Truth and peace.

Today this gathering as a whole, its discipline, character, speech and action will all have an effect on the minds of a large group and mitigate this propaganda against us. These people will serve as a source to convince the rest of the population that this propaganda is false. But this is possible only if you are serious in achieving these objectives and spend the day conscious of your purpose.

Lastly, I want to remind you, and let this be an advice engraved into your minds, that you may feel that after celebrating this day you have finished your duty, and be satisfied that you celebrated a successful day and that your work is now over. Your work is NOT over; today it has just begun! This is not the end but it is the beginning. Now be steadfast and earnestly continue the good work. This is a never-ending obligation and must continue for life. You are the worker in the path of Allah (SWT) and a worker in the path of Allah (SWT) never rests.
