July 26, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews.org - Responding to well placed criticism, that Saudi Arabia isn't doing nearly enough to combat Wahhabism, Ambassador designate Al-Turki stated on tuesday evening's Nite Line, "I think it's misplaced criticism...I know if they (critics) consult with their federal government, from the president down on, they will see that Saudi Arabia is really in the forefront in the fight against terrorism, and has been for many years."
Al-Turki elaborated, "If we are being accused of something, we have to have the information," Mr. al-Faisal says. "We need specific names, specific addresses, specific things like that to be able to trace and pursue these matters. And we're doing everything we can."
This is such a peurile ploy that it almost defies description.
The list of Saudi foundations and individuals which fund terror is legendary, he personally used to deal with the Taleban and al Qaida and he repeatedly met with Osama bin Laden.
Al-Turki's dodge?
"I met him in the eighties, long before he became the monster that he did after that (9/11)," Mr. al-Faisal says.
On the same program Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman (Republican) Pat Roberts said that it's in Saudi interests to deal with terrorism because their monarchy is very vulnerable and that it was an "open question." as to whether or not they are currently doing enough.
As to the prevalence of official anti-Semitism in Saudi society:
"As a new study from the Saudi Institute and the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies states, "Saudi officials disseminate hate literature openly in the United States." The Riyadh-funded Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America published Abdulla Al-Tarekee's "A Muslim's Relations with Non-Muslims ? Enmity or Friendship."
"The unbelievers, idolaters, and others like them must be hated and despised," Al-Tarekee writes. "We must stay away from them and create barriers between us and them." He adds: "Qur'an forbade taking Jews and Christians as friends, and that applies to every Jew and Christian, with no consideration as to whether they are at war with Islam or not."
Consider several other examples of Riyadh's public Jew bashing:
"Muslim brothers in Palestine, do not have any mercy neither compassion on the Jews, their blood, their money, their flesh," Shaik Saad Al-Buraik has said. "Their women are yours to take legitimately. God made them yours. Why don't you enslave their women? Why don't you wage jihad? Why don't you pillage them?"
Al-Buraik hosted an April 11-13 government telethon that raised $109 million for Palestinian relief, including money for the families of homicide bombers.
O God, the Jews have transgressed all limits in their tyranny," Shaik Abd-al-Bari al Thubayti prayed in a June 7 sermon on official Saudi TV2. "O God, shake the ground under their feet, pour torture on them, and destroy all of them." - Israel Facts
