The call for "no cops" was heard loudly throughout a rally held, last month, in Downtown Miami, Florida. This was not unlike many other rallies that were taking place around the nation, at the same time, protests in the name of George Floyd, a black male who lost his life while being detained by police. However, this particular rally was co-sponsored by a group headed by a Deputy Sheriff. The group is a radical Muslim outfit, the South Florida Muslim Federation (SFMF), and its and its leader Nezar Hamze's actions are helping to endanger members of law enforcement.

Nezar Jason Hamze's hire as a Deputy Sheriff by the Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) was and still is a matter of controversy. All three of the BSO Majors who had evaluated Hamze, during the hiring process, had unanimously recommended Hamze not be hired. Hamze was found to be lying on his polygraph exam about the "use of" and "buying illegal drugs." More than that, Hamze, at the time, was a representative for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization with foundational and financial ties to Hamas.

Today, Hamze is the Executive Director of the South Florida Muslim Federation or SoFlo Muslims, an umbrella organization for South Florida's many Islamic extremist groups and terror-tied mosques. One member mosque, Masjid Jamaat Al-Mumineen (MJAM), currently contains on its official website a book library filled with texts promoting female genital mutilation, death punishments for homosexuals, stoning of women, and hatred of Jews, Christians and Hindus. One MJAM text, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, states, "[B]eware of the Jews, your enemies… [D]o not be deceived by them, for they are liars, treacherous and disbelievers… [T]hey are the enemies of Islam and its people, may Allah curse them."

On May 31st, SFMF co-sponsored a rally at Miami's Torch of Friendship, titled 'JUSTICE FOR GEORGE FLOYD.' The other sponsor was the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), which has been involved in organizing a number of these demonstrations around the nation. ICNA is the American arm of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the largest Islamist group in South Asia, and partners with JI and its affiliates overseas. This, while JI supports and finances Hamas and has its own terrorist apparatus, Hizbul-Mujahideen, which, like Hamas, is designated a terrorist group by the United States government.

According to the Miami Herald, roughly 100 people attended the rally. Representing SFMF and ICNA at the event were: the President of SFMF's Executive Committee, Samir Kakli; SFMF Public Relations Director Wilfredo Ruiz; SFMF Broward County Representative and contact for the rally, Yunus Ismail; and SFMF Palm Beach County Representative and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of ICNA Relief USA, Abdul Rauf Khan.

Noticeably absent from the rally was South Florida Muslim Federation Executive Director Nezar Hamze. Why? Maybe Hamze was concerned that he would be caught on video, while his group cursed his fellow police officers. Given what took place at the rally, he had a right to be concerned, as this was a protest against police as much if not more than anything else.

One of the speakers at the rally was introduced as "Eric from Dream Defenders." He stated, "We elected a State Attorney, and we can literally defund the police. We don't need police running around our streets." Heavily involved in the protests following the death of George Floyd, Dream Defenders spews vitriol against members of law enforcement with terms like "F**k 12," code for "F**k the police." The group uses social media to promote violent Socialist movements, including the Sandinistas, the Zapatistas, the Black Panthers, the Mozambique Liberation Front, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which the US government designates a terrorist group.

Throughout the rally, chants of "NO COPS, NO KKK, NO RACIST USA" were shouted by the rally leader and loudly repeated by participants. Signs were displayed by rally goers stating exactly the same. One of them was held up by SFMF's Yunus Ismail, whose photo with the sign is showcased proudly on the SFMF website. Following the speeches, the rally goers joined up with others to march through Downtown Miami. The "NO COPS" chant continued to be belted out by the crowd.

This rally and others like it have created an atmosphere where police officers are made targets of abuse and violence. Indeed, during the countrywide protests/riots in George Floyd's name, whilst attendees proclaim "BLACK LIVES MATTER," a number of officers have been injured and/or murdered.

For Nezar Hamze to allow the organization he runs to be involved in such a blatant show of disrespect (and worse) to police speaks volumes about how Hamze views his fellow officers. No doubt, Hamze is an Islamist fifth column within the department.

According to advertisements found on SFMF's website and Facebook page, on June 13th, Hamze along with CAIR-Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly were to have given a presentation sponsored by CAIR, titled 'WHAT TO DO WHEN LAW ENFORCEMENT WANTS TO TALK TO YOU.' These CAIR presentations are made to stoke fear within the Muslim community, teaching those who would listen to this sinister and insidious message that police are not to be trusted nor spoken to. These events, too, assist in creating the toxic atmosphere that endangers police and undermines law enforcement's ability to protect citizens.

Nezar Hamze should not be involved in any aspect of law enforcement, as his and his organization's actions are threats to and in opposition to law enforcement. The rally and his lecture are prime examples of why he should hand in his gun and badge. Hamze should be forced to resign immediately. He is a danger to both police and public safety.
