Jihad In Las Vegas: Stephen Paddock Was Muslim Convert - Massacre Targetted Quintessential American Venue

Over 58 Dead And 500 Injured In Terror Attack Claimed By The Islamic State
October 2, 2017

Initial reports: Las Vegas shooter

MIM: According to Israel National News and ISIS Stephen Craig Paddock was a recent convert to Islam. The targetting of a country music festival, a quintessentially American venue and law enforcement stating that this was a 'lone wolf' attack while at the same time claiming to have 'no knowledge of his belief system' are all clear signs that this was a jihad massacre. In a video released in May ISIS called for attacks in Las Vegas and other American cities. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/05/25/las-vegas-authorities-on-alert-over-new-isis-propaganda-video.html

Paddock was a prized type of radical Muslim convert a "clean skin" (no criminal record) white middle aged American man who in no way fit the profile of an Islamic terrorist.

"...An ISIS propaganda video posted on social media last week featured a brief clip of Las Vegas' famed strip, prompting Sin City law enforcement authorities to perceive a credible threat.

The 44-minute video showed 2015 footage of the strip, along with images from other cities, including New York and Washington, D.C. The video, narrated in English, calls on ISIS supporters living in the U.S. to carry out attacks using knives and vehicles..."

ISIS claims responsibility for Las Vegas massacre

The ISIS terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the deadliest mass shooting attack in US history.

50 people were murdered and more than 400 were wounded when a gunman opened fire at a country music concert at the Mandalay Bay resort just before 10:30 p.m. local time

"The Las Vegas attacker is a soldier of the Islamic State in response to calls to target coalition countries," the terrorist organization said.

ISIS also claimed that the shooter "converted to Islam several months ago."

Police identified the gunman as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, a resident of Mesquite, Nevada.

Police say Paddock had a criminal record, but no known ties to terrorism.

While initial reports claimed Paddock was a recent convert to Islam, Clark County Sherrif Joseph Lombardo said he had no knowledge of Paddock's religious beliefs.

Paddock killed himself before police could apprehend him.

Officials have not commented on ISIS' claim of responsibility for the massacre.

MIM: ISIS issued another communique claiming responsibility for the Las Vegas jihad attack and referring to killer Stephen Paddock as "Abu Abd Abdulbar al- Ameriki".

Sheriff: Las Vegas Shooter Paddock May Have Been ‘RADICALIZED'

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo gave a press conference Tuesday and responded to questions whether Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock had been "radicalized."

Speaking to reporters, Lombardo said, "I want to understand the motivation that you described, okay, to prevent any future incidents, and, you know, did this person get radicalized unbeknownst to us? And we want to identify that source."

10/8/17 Update: This from Newsweek about Paddock's ISIS connection and conversion to Islam. "ISIS: Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Paddock Became Muslim Six Months Before Massacre"

"...In the latest edition of ISIS's weekly Al-Naba online magazine, which was shared by its supporters Thursday on encrypted messaging app Telegram, the militant network provided more information intended to bolster its prior claimsthat assailant Stephen Paddock converted to Islam prior to killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more, when he opened fire on concertgoers from his 32nd floor room in the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas with nearly two dozen weapons.

The new publication now specified that Paddock, who the group dubbed Abu Abdul Barr al-Amriki, had allegedly "converted to Islam six months ago" and provided a play-by-play of Sunday's bloodshed.

"A soldier of the caliphate attacked a gathering of 22,000 Americans at a concert in the city of Las Vegas, resulting in nearly 60 killed and 600 injured, "Al-Naba states, later erroneously stating the death toll at 59, instead of the revised count of 58.

"Brother Abu Abdul Bar stationed himself in a room on the 32nd floor of a hotel overlooking the concert and opened fire continuously on the crowds using 23 firearms and more than 2,000 bullets and died, may God accept him, after running out of ammunition," it added..."

Update: 10/9/17

Las Vegas shooter may have planned car bombings, other attacks Officials say

Stephen Paddock led 'secret life', may have planned series of attacks including car bombing.

David Rosenberg, ט"ז בתשרי תשע"ח, 10/6/2017

Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock, the man responsible for the deadliest mass shooting on American soil, may have planned additional attacks including a car bombing, US officials said Thursday.

Paddock, a 64-year-old gambler who previously made millions off of real estate investments, lived a "secret life", investigators say, culminating in the massive shooting attack Sunday night at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.

During the attack, Paddock opened fire from the balcony of his 32nd story room at the Mandalay Bay, firing hundreds of rounds with modified automatic rifles, hitting concertgoers gathered at a nearby country music festival.

Police say Paddock specifically requested the room; further evidence that the attack had been carefully planned in advance to maximize casualties.

Clark County Sherrif Joseph Lombardo hinted Wednesday that someone other than Paddock may have been involved in planning and preparing the shooting spree, saying that it could be assumed that Paddock had "some help at some point".

Lombardo emphasized that Paddock left few clues about the preparations for the attack, his motive, or even the details of his life up to the attack.

"What we know is Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood."

Paddock, who ultimately shot himself as a SWAT team breached the door to his room, apparently had planned to escape after the attack, investigators said.

Police found 23 firearms in Paddock's hotel room, and another 19 in his home in nearby Mesquite, Nevada.

Evidence of other planned attacks emerged this week, after investigators found that Paddock had rented a condo overlooking another music festival, and had also booked a hotel room in Chicago which overlooks Grant Park, where the massive Lollapalooza music festival draws hundreds of thousands each year.

According to a report by Fox News, police found not only thousands of rounds of ammunition in Paddock's possession, but also 50 pounds of the explosive material Tannerite and large quantities of fertilizer, which could be used to manufacture a car bomb.

MIM:Marilou Danley was Paddock's "companion" and is being considered "a person of interest."

Danley is from the Phillipines. According to a news report about her now deleted Facebook page she has visited Dubai. She may herself be Muslim.

"The week before to his rampage, Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines — where his live-in girlfriend would be Oct. 1, when he opened fire on a crowded outdoor festival thousands of miles away, it was revealed Monday...Danley was in Tokyo on Monday afternoon. She is expected to return to the US for questioning, the Las Vegas Sheriff's Department said.
