Ortiz: Tsarnaev, "Bombing Not A Religious Crime"May 17, 2015 May 15, 2015 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – Just moments ago, the jury in the Boston Marathon bombing case announced that it would impose the death penalty on Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who had earlier been convicted of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing which killed 3 and wounded over 200. Imam Carmen M. Ortiz, who oversaw the prosecution, also serving as the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, immediately issued a fatwa on the matter, stating that, "the bombing was not a religious crime…" Though not available for comment regarding Ortiz' religious ruling, Tsarnaev did however compose a note while in flight during the post-bombing manhunt which resulted in his apprehension. In it, "Dzhokhar takes responsibility for the Boston Marathon bombings, calling the attacks retribution for the United States' military action against innocent Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq. An excerpt from the note reads: "When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims." Dzhokhar also wrote that he didn't mourn the death of his brother, Tamerlan, who he deemed a martyr in paradise." [source, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Biography.com] Ms. Ortiz is typical of the type of DOJ appointment Team Obama makes, she's been a political hack since first working with Eric Holder: Her Wiki bio reads in part:
In 2009 Ted Kennedy suggested to the administration that Ortiz should be a U.S. Attorney and upon nomination by Team Obama, she was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on a unanimous vote. As of this writing her training as an imam is not clear but as we know the determination of an Islamic scholar trumps the mere statements of people like Tsarnaev, who was obviously just a confused young man driven to desperate action by the greedy, Islamophobic and colonial actions of the United States.
