February 23, 2015 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – The US State Department is nearly breathless in anticipation of the "new way forward," recently established in the nuke negotiations between the Ayatollocracy and the West.
As AP reports, "The United States and Iran are working on a two-phase deal that clamps down on Tehran's nuclear program for at least a decade before providing it leeway over the remainder of the agreement to slowly ramp up activities that could be used to make weapons."
Translating from AP's usual pro-Obama gibberish, at best the West gets nothing from the terms of the proposed agreement except for an absurd promise by the Iranians that they will stop their weaponization program [which it claims doesn't exist] for the next ten years.
There will of course not be a corresponding framework of rigorous inspections to make sure that Iran doesn't cheat. In reality, "cheating" on the agreement is already a given since the country has not allowed, nor will it ever permit the type of onsite, unannounced inspections necessary for even a modicum of surety regarding the terms of the treaty.
With respect to Obama's Iranian dog-and-pony show; it was never intended to accomplish its stated purpose, denying the aggressive theocracy the means to develop nuclear weapons. It was designed to create light and heat where there is none as the president desperately seeks the mere appearance of a tangible "accomplishment" in this area since none are readily apparent as of this writing.
We could hardly imagine a grander tribute to a foreign policy which has largely destabilized much of the world.
But as they say on late night television, "folks, that's not all…" While the P5+1 busily throws Israel under the bus, Iran and HAMAS are strengthening ties at a time when relations between the United States and the Jewish state are at an all time low and while the country is under increasing attack by HAMAS and other practitioners of Islamic jihad.
"Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan stressed that the Palestinian movement would growingly cement ties with Iran."Hamas is looking for the expansion of mutual cooperation with Arab and Muslims states as well as those interested in the Palestinian cause across the world, including Iran," Palestine Online news website quoted Hamdan who is in charge of Hamas foreign relations as saying on Monday…He noted that Hamas needs Iran's further financial and arms aid to continue its resistance against Israel…" [source, Hamas Stresses Consolidation of Ties with Iran, Fars News Agency]
So in essence we have two parties, neither of which can be trusted, engaging in kabuki negotiations solely for the consumption of the media which probably already has reverential, slug lined working articles just about ready to go upon the announcement that a deal has been signed.
Of course Iran might choose to, at some dramatic point, entirely scuttle the talks as it has in the past, or add a "secret" codicil further freeing the country's hand to proceed down the nuclear path.
