A terrorist stabbing attack took place Wednesday morning on a bus in central Tel Aviv, on Begin Road, near Beit Maariv. The terrorist in an Arab man, reportedly from Samaria.

Videos taken a few minutes after the attack show wounded civilians receiving first aid from emergency teams.

Up to 12 people were reported wounded in the stabbing, with 17 receiving treatment from Magen David Adom (MDA).

According to hospital sources cited by AFP, at least 12 people were wounded in the attack, including three who were in serious condition, four in moderate condition and five who sustained light injuries. Another seven people were treated for shock

The wounded were taken to Ichilov and Tel Hashomer hospitals. An eyewitness told IDF Radio that two of the wounded were very seriously hurt, having been stabbed "in the brain (and) in the neck."

He said that some of the wounded got away from the bus and advanced about 100 or 150 meters before collapsing.

The official police Facebook page posted video footage from the scene of the attack.

The stabbing rampage took place inside the #40 line bus. The terrorist reportedly stabbed the driver first, and this prevented the driver from opening the bus's doors to let the passengers escape. The doors were reportedly opened by one of the passengers.

He then got off the bus and was chased by police on Hamasger Street.

According to police, a team from the Israel Prisons Service's elite Nachshon unit happened to be driving behind the bus when the attack took place. The officers got off the car and gave chase to the terrorist, shot him in the leg and arrested him.

He is reportedly 23 years old and a resident of Tulkarem in Samaria, who was in Israel illegally.

Bus Terrorist: I Learned Everything on the Internet

Terrorist Hamza Matrouk learned his craft from the Internet, he told interrogators after stabbing a dozen people. By Moshe Cohen First Publish: 1/21/2015, 3:32 PM

Hamza Matrouk, the terrorist who stabbed passengers on a Tel Aviv bus Wednesday morning, learned his craft from the Internet, he told interrogators. Matrouk, who was shot in the leg and arrested as he tried to escape after stabbing and injuring a dozen people on a Dan company bus in Tel Aviv early Wednesday, was apparently a big consumer of online videos relating to Islamic theology, anti-Israel and anti-Semitic philosophy – and training videos on attacking Jews.

There are many such training videos circulating on the Internet. In one, translated by Palestinian Media Watch, a video focusing on Hamas founder Ahmad Yassin and portrays young children as continuing the slain Islamist sheikh's legacy. Children are portrayed wearing uniforms, holding rifles and participating in military training. The children are shown marching and carrying out mock attacks on their "enemies," and are exhorted to "carry the knife" and "carry machine guns" to attack Israel.

Other videos show the specific techniques needed to slash someone's throat or stab them in the side, what spot to aim for in order to kill someone, etc.

Among other things, Matrouk said, he also watched many videos portraying the IDF's responses to Hamas terror rockets fired at Israel during Operation Protective Edge, as well as the events on the Temple Mount, as Israeli police try to stop riots and rock throwing by Arab rioters. It was these videos, he said, that prompted him to sneak out of Tulkarem and go on his stabbing spree.

Twelve people were wounded in the stabbing attack, with 17 receiving treatment from Magen David Adom (MDA). The wounded were taken to Ichilov and Tel Hashomer hospitals. An eyewitness told IDF Radio that two of the wounded were very seriously hurt, having been stabbed "in the brain (and) in the neck."

According to police, a team from the Israel Prisons Service's elite Nachshon unit happened to be driving behind the bus when the attack took place. The officers got off the car and gave chase to the terrorist, shot him in the leg and arrested him.

Fatah Lauds Tel Aviv Stabbing as 'Self-Sacrificing Operation'

Abbas's faction justifies and aggrandizes stabbing of 12 in heart of Tel Aviv, while PA TV accuses Netanyahu of 'incitement.' By Ari Yashar First Publish: 1/22/2015, 6:21 PM

An Arab terrorist from Tulkarem in Samaria stabbed at least 12 people on a bus in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, and the Fatah faction of Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas lost no time warping it into a "self-sacrificing operation."

Fatah referred to the terrorist attack, which left three critically wounded, as an amaliya fida'iya meaning "self-sacrificing operation," in a post on its official Facebook reporting the incident, revealed Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

"Urgent! Self-sacrificing operation in Tel Aviv: A knife attack inside a bus. Reports of the wounding of 10 Israelis and the wounding of the man who carried out the operation from Israeli police fire. The area has been sealed off and the Israeli police is conducting an extensive search in the area," read the Fatah post on Wednesday.

The PA's unity partner Hamas was more open in praising the attack, in a post on the Hamas-controlled Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza's Facebook page.

"A morning of homeland and freedom, a morning of the knife's point of the rebel for Palestine," rejoiced Hamas.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and numerous other Israeli politicians responded to the attack by blaming Abbas for causing it, citing the PA's incessant incitement and praise of terrorism as instigating the stabbing and other incidents like it.

However, official PA TV flipped things on their head in reporting the attack, calling it a "stabbing operation" in an aggrandizement and justification, and accusing Netanyahu of "incitement" for pointing the finger at the PA and Fatah for its incitement.

In fact, just hours after the stabbing Fatah again incited terrorism on its Facebook page, posting images of various weapons and calling for violence.
