Obama Outed As Two-Faced By "Negotiating Partner" Iran

November 17, 2014

November 13, 2014 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – It's no longer news - since it was revealed about a week ago - that President Obama has been engaged in a secret letter writing campaign between himself and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. This is occurring as the deadline approaches on the public nuke negotiations between Tehran and the so-called P5+1 nations.

In the communication, Obama also suggested other areas in which the U.S. and Iran can "cooperate," such as the threat posed by ISIS. The latter despite the fact that ISIS, a revolutionary Sunni jihadist group, currently represents a more serious threat to Iran than it does the United States, though it certainly has America in the crosshairs of its long-term goals.

How lessening the pressure on Iran's weapons of mass destruction program while simultaneously removing a serious military threat across its border improves our diplomatic leverage against the rogue nation is difficult to comprehend.

"A secret letter sent by Barack Obama to Iran's religious and political leader suggested that diplomacy between the two adversaries over the nuclear issue might presage a broader rapprochement, despite the Obama administration's denials. The letter, penned in October and sent to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reportedly referenced a shared interest between the US and Iran in combating Islamic State (Isis) militants in Iraq and Syria." It's generally felt that Obama's approach to the talks has been weak and that the measures suggested will, at best only temporarily slow down, Iran's relentless push to develop nuclear weapons. Indeed, many experts examining the process believe that Team O's negotiating posture and proposals are alarmingly weak, designed more for purposes of public consumption rather than to deal head-on with the grave threat a nuclear Iran would present.

While the WH concentrates on creating positive press in an area which it has been alarmingly weak, Iran's leaders have stepped up its campaign of Jew-hatred, once again threatening Israel with annihilation.

As the Washington Free Beacon reports:

"Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei published early Sunday a 9-step plan to "eliminate" Israel, prompting Israel's prime minister to file a formal complaint with Western negotiators involved in nuclear talks with Tehran." [source, Adam Kredo, Iran Publishes Plan to ‘Eliminate' Israel]

Aside from the widely recognized weakness of this administration's proposals to "contain" Iran there has been another factor, one which further weakens his expressed goals.

Mr. Obama, having had no experience in diplomacy before his historic 2008 election, is hopelessly naïve when it comes to dealing with the genuine bad guys of the world. He seems to have no real understanding of what Donald Trump calls the art of the deal, what is more formally known as game theory.

Exhibit "A" here is Obama's expectation that his assumed private communication with the Ayatolocracy, would remain that way. Instead Iran, as any experienced negotiator would expect, has outed the president, humiliating in the eyes of world leaders including our erstwhile allies.

Published yesterday by one of Iran's state media outlets, Fars, Iran's Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani attacked the United States over alleged duplicity, taking a hard-line publicly, but adopting a much more conciliatory tone in what Obama thought would remain privileged communication.

"He lambasted the US ruling system for adopting contradictory attitudes when writing secret friendly letters to Iran and when taking a public position, and explained that the White House apparently speaks in these two paradoxical tones for domestic consumption and to affect parties inside the US." As the nuke talks move towards conclusion, Iran's revelation have further weakened whatever leverage the United States might have had to pressure the Islamic dictatorship to cease its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

On a more personal level, the disclosure reveals Obama as a vainglorious man, who is so convinced of his ability – absent any demonstrable proof thereof - that he stubbornly engages in behavior regarding the most serious challenges facing America which even a junior foreign service officer would laugh off as being dangerously simple minded.
