September 16, 2014 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – A befuddling chain of events…
The administration saddles the Egyptian people with an Islamic theocratic dictatorship [knowing that it represents the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood] until the country's people forcefully take it down; Libya isn't on the administrations short list of action areas; Libya is bombed and Gaddafi deposed; heavy weapons are transferred to Syria from Libya in a mysterious black-ops process involving the late Ambassador Chris Stevens; lines are drawn in the sand then ignored, Syria will be bombed; Syria will not be bombed; saving Christian schoolgirls in Nigeria from the unspeakable brutality of Boko Haram is of no concern to U.S. interests; we must save "Our Girls"; there will be no "boots on the ground"; there will be a few boots on the ground, but not in Nigeria; 80 intell and law enforcement types are sent to Nigeria's neighbor, Chad; U.S. boots are dispatched to Nigeria; ISIS is a JV outfit; ISIS is evil and must be destroyed; the Iraqis will have to save themselves; the Iraqis need a coalition government; a few advisors will be provided to the Iraqis to help them resist the invasion; no U.S. "boots on the ground"; there will a limited number of "boots on the ground" but they will mostly guard the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad; this is not a war; this is a war; there will be more boots on the ground, actually quite a few more; the U.S. will build a coalition, but there are zero takers…
These are just a few of the mutually contradictory foreign policy stances which this administration has adopted over just the last few years. If one was reading this, from some future history of the times, the chain of events would simply seem too discordant to have actually happened, implausibility on steroids.
But they did, and as they say on late night television, wait…but that's not all…
The English language simply has no words to describe the state of affairs which Barack Hussein Obama has brought to the American foreign policy arena; calling it a cowardly, unprecedented example of national security disarray doesn't even do it partial service.
What we are facing is a complete breakdown of world order [such as it ever is] caused by a boy, once thought to be brilliant as well as messianic, in a world of hard men and what Otto von Bismark used call "Blut und Eisen"…blood and steel.
Where is this headed?
Impossible to predict with any certainty except with for the sickening feeling that it won't be good.
The American people were warned, though not by the leaders of an evanescent opposition party or an effeminate, dogmatically Marxist legacy media.
No, that task had to be undertaken by the alternative media, which includes a few hard copy periodicals, hundreds of influential blogs and websites and a handful of talkers, metaphorically led by the tip of the spear, Rush Limbaugh who defiantly stated that he wanted this president to fail.
But that isn't what happened.
Barack Obama has succeeded wildly, it's just that this time around the jackals who have been trying to claw their way into the Oval Office for 100 years are having to face the consequences of their actions, international and domestic chaos.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, we get dragged along for the ride.
In such a world, military power becomes the supreme arbiter in relations between nations and with President Obama in the WH, that does not bode well for the continued security of the United States.
We are reminded of the words of William Butler Yeats in his poem the Second Coming:
"Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
