"Devout Moderate Muslim" Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser Whines About Being "Bullied" By His Radical Mosque With CAIR Imam

August 24, 2014

MIM: What was Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser, a self proclaimed "devout moderate Muslim" (an oxymoron if there ever was one) doing attending a radical mosque whose Imam was the head of CAIR Arizona until 2013 and now serves CAIR in an "advisory capacity"?

Jasser's Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley (ICNEV) has a documented history of radical associations besides CAIR (a Saudi funded front group for Hamas) yet Jasser remained a congregant there for over a decade and headed their da'wa efforts in 2003 at least until 2011. Now he is whining to whoever will listen that his "moderate" stance and criticism of Hamas (for victimizing the Palestinians in Gaza!) on national TV has gotten him "bullied"by fellow mosqueteers. Duh...

What did he expect and why is he complaining? He has been an active participant in mosque activities and his mosque The ICNEV has held numerous CAIR and other Islamist events and actively practices da'wa under the guise of "outreach" and dialogue. His own organisation, the American Islamic Forum for Democracy also embodies a da'wa mission: "We will work to promote and enhance the understanding of Islam in America".

Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser is dangerous in that he propagates a form of Islam which does not exist. He is being hailed by many non Muslims as a 'Muslim Messiah' because they are desperate to take in the "moderate" pabulum he offers them. They cannot bear to face the reality that Islam is a nasty, violent religion many of whose adherents are sociopaths and homicidal maniacs dedicated to their destruction and who will continue wreaking murder and mayhem for decades to come. Islam's inherent pathology is evident in that, after adopting the religion, many converts become vicious sadistic killers who enjoy beheading people for the sake of Allah as has been witnessed numerous times.

As for Jasser's being a member of a Muslim Brotherhood affiliated mosque, this is similiar to Obama's lengthy stint in the virulently anti semitic and anti American church of Reverend Wright. There is no way he can justify his long time presence in a mosque presided over by an imam who headed CAIR Arizona and it appears that no one has ever called him on it. Instead, people are lulled into complacency after meeting Jasser and duped into thinking that there actually are practicing "moderate" Muslims like him and that Islam is compatible with democracy and Western values as he claims it is. Too bad the majority of his co religionists dont think the same way. Jasser is a religion unto himself. One could call it "Reform Zuhdism".

In a debate with Robert Spencer he said that the Islam expert was unqualified to speak because he "was not a Muslim" Spencer should have asked if that would change if he took the one minute it requires to recite the Shahada (the prayer which makes one a Muslim).

According to his Twitter account Jasser is now engaged in a whirlwind of media appearences in which he pontificates about ISIS claiming that it is not the true face of Islam and if only the United States would coddle and encourage the "moderates" a Western style democracy could evolve in places like Syria and Iraq.

As stated above Jasser was the "outreach coordinator" for the ICNEV mosque and engaged in "dialogue" with non Muslims.

In an article entitled "Jamie Glazov Exposes Muslim Brotherhood Charade in the American Heartland" the author and analyist had this to say about dialogue and the true face of Islam;

"Glazov said "our totalitarian and terrorist enemies manipulate and exploit ‘dialogue' with us as a weapon to weaken and destroy us – a tactic which is found in Muslim Brotherhood documents.".."

"...He made it clear that ISIS, whose reported atrocities across Iraq include beheading Christian children and crucifying their parents, is "the true Islam."

"Anything we see in the West which looks ‘moderate' appears that way because Muslims who are lucky enough to be separated from Shariah by Western influences, laws and environments, can practice ‘selective' Islam," he explained. "They will not have that privilege when Islam becomes the ruler of the land..." http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/bob-unruh/jamie-glazov-exposes-muslim-brotherhood-charade-in-the-american-heartland/

It is high time that Zuhdi Jasser be intellectually honest and stops peddling the myth and repeating the mantra of "moderation" which he pretends to be the embodiment of and admit that his vision of a kinder gentler Islam does not and can never exist.

Failure to do so is not only intellectually dishonest but potentially lethal in that it inclines people to let their guard down when dealing with self proclaimed "moderate" Muslims who postulate that if only "moderates" get more moral and financial support from non Muslims they will embrace Western democracy and live happily ever after side by side the infidels whose subjugation and destruction is part and parcel of the Koran which they embrace.

Jasser's self designation as a "devout moderate" is a farce which was exposed by the recent hostility he encountered from his fellow mosque congregants who unlike him, were showing the true face of Islam.

In 2013 Imam of The Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley Anas Hlayhel was given the CAIR Arizona Community Service Award.

"...In addition to Anas' full-time work as an engineer, he is also the imam of the Scottsdale Mosque - Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley.

"Please join CAIR-AZ in congratulating Imam Anas Hlayhel for his service to his community - as we will be presenting him with this honor at November 9th's CAIR-AZ Banquet at the Hilton Phoenix-Mesa..."http://cair-az.org/blog/imam_anas_hlayhel_to_be_honored_with_cairaz_community_service_award.html

"Anas has served as the Chairman of the CAIR-AZ Board (2010-2013) and is a prominent leader in the Phoenix Muslim community. In addition to his work with CAIR-AZ, he also serves as the part-time imam Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley (Scottsdale Masjid,) along with his contributions delivering sermons at the various masajid throughout the valley and leading local youth group halaqahs. He also works full-time engineer, and is an author on the successful blog MuslimMatters. After diligently working to build CAIR-AZ to its level today, Anas now transitions into an advisory role with the organization."http://cair-az.org/profile?id=51610a2daa8eec9228000019

MIM: According to the Clarion Project ICNEV Imam Hlayhel "liked" suicide bombing supporting imam Yusuf al Qaradawi on his Facebook page.http://www.clarionproject.org/category/tags/islamic-center-north-east-valley

"...In fact, Clarion also found that the Facebook page of CAIR-AZ's chairman, Anas Hlayhel, has "liked" the Muslim Brotherhood's current spiritual leader, Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradawi.

Hlayhel is the leader of yet another group in Arizona, a mosque named the Islamic Center of North East Valley in Scottsdale. That's a total of four organizations in one network. They appear to be separate, but they are all inter-connected, with three of them sharing the same address.

This web is a microcosm of how the Islamist network, especially the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, operates..." http://islamthreat.com/islamists_in_america_skilled_at_hiding_common_roots.html

MIM: The ICNEV Iman had this to say about Jasser:

Anas Hlayel Page: So true .. He almost has no relevance in his own community here in AZ, let alone rest of the country. Going around name-calling will not help his cause either.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MIM: Besides his mosque Jasser's link to CAIR also extends to his immediate family. His father in law Ahmed Banna is a CAIR chapter president in Cleveland. https://www.cairohio.com/about-us/our-boards/cair-cleveland-executive-board/dr-ahmad-banna-president.html

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MIM: This op ed was written by Jasser and appeared in the AZ Central paper. It is worth noting that Jasser's "criticism" of Hamas was for the way it "viciously oppresses the people of Gaza" and the "launching of rockets that victimize Palestinian women, children and families". Apparently Jasser, who has many Jewish supporters, did not see fit to mention Israel when it comes to victimisation by Hamas and their launching of rockets.

"A few days earlier I had criticized the radicals of Hamas on national television for their supremacist Islamist doctrine hatched from the Muslim Brotherhood that daily and viciously oppresses the people of Gaza. I urged Hamas to stop the war mongering, refusal of cease fires, and launching of thousands of rockets that victimize Palestinian women, children and families, and I criticized CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations)."

It appears that he has hoisted himself by his own keffiyah...

Muslim: I was bullied for criticizing Hamas," by M. Zuhdi Jasser, AZ Central

What happens in Syria, Egypt, Iraq or Gaza has an impact every day right here in the Valley.

Even in America, leading Muslim organizations and clerics bully with threats of ostracism those Muslims who dare to dissent. Old-guard ideologues, too, used to monopoly control, make it crystal clear to their Muslim critics: Take us on and we will make an example of you as a traitor to the Muslim community (the ummah).

On July 28, Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Fitr (Holiday of the Feast) marking the end of our holy month of Ramadan, a spiritual month of daily fasting from all food and drink. In Ramadan, we focus on scripture, self-reflection and atonement. My family and I attended the holiday Eid prayer service at the Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley of which we are longtime members.

Little did we know Imam Yaser Ali, a Valley attorney, would use this otherwise joyous family holiday occasion to target me in the presence of my wife and children.

With more than 500 local Muslims in attendance, he riled up the crowd, demanding a community "effort" against those Muslims "who go on Fox News and speak ill against our Muslim brothers and sisters … who make the mosques look bad." These individuals, he said, "hate Islam" and "vilify Muslims."

While Mr. Ali never had the courage to say my name, no doubt remained in the mosque, or later on social media, that he was referring to me. He finished his tirade with "they are not from amongst us … they don't represent us; we, the Muslim community represent one another, and we care for our brothers and sisters in Palestine."

Apparently, the Scottsdale mosque's leadership decided, or at the minimum voiced no disagreement, that for Muslims this Ramadan it is not Hamas, al-Qaida, ISIS, Boko Haram, the Muslim Brotherhood, or the evil regimes from Assad's Syria to Iran or Saudi Arabia or even radicalized American jihadists in Syria that deserve targeting from the pulpit, but only a local, reform-minded activist — Zuhdi Jasser.

This imam meticulously described what he knows too well would garner me a death sentence as a munafiq (hypocrite), or murtad (apostate), for the crime of riddah (apostasy, treason) according to the interpretation of Shariah law accepted by Saudi Arabia and most Muslim-majority countries.

What was the crime prompting my metaphorical flogging in the presence of my wife, children and friends' families on this holiday?

A few days earlier I had criticized the radicals of Hamas on national television for their supremacist Islamist doctrine hatched from the Muslim Brotherhood that daily and viciously oppresses the people of Gaza. I urged Hamas to stop the war mongering, refusal of cease fires, and launching of thousands of rockets that victimize Palestinian women, children and families, and I criticized CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations).

To Imam Yaser Ali that was worthy of takfir, a declaration of public apostasy. The mosque board and audience responded to his call to action against me, a Muslim he described as of "those who hate Islam," with a resounding "inshallah" (God willing).

In the days to follow, local social media filled with subtle and not-so-subtle threats against me and my family from some rather prominent Valley Muslims.

While the venue was new, the mantra was a cheap rehash of the old, scorched-earth smear tactics peddled by the CAIR. Right after declaring me the enemy of all Muslims, Mr. Ali spoke of the so-called religious obligation to donate generously to CAIR. This was all reminiscent of the May 9, 2014, sermon, visiting CAIR-LA director Hussam Ayloush, who regularly takes to Twitter with other CAIR directors to call me an "Uncle Tom" and a "monkey," gave across town at the Islamic Community Center of Tempe to slam me as an "Islamophobe."…

Yaser Ali responded to Jasser's op ed with a halal pabulum in which he claims to have been "misconstrued", surprised and victimised.

MIM: At the bottom of Jassers' mosque's website pages there are several links for Peace TV "The Solution For Humanity" http://www.peacetv.tv/

Peace TV features virulently anti semitic, anti Christian and anti American clerics such as Ahmed Deedat, the now deceased director of the since renamed Bin Laden Center. Deedat wrote an anti Christian book called "Cruxifiction or Cruci Fiction?" Other featured clerics include Jamal Badawi, who promotes wife beating, Siraj Wahhaj who called for a Muslim takeover of the United States and Zakir Naik.

The ICNEV mission statement reads in part " Engage in the propagation of Islam (Al Dawah)" http://www.islamcenter.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=19&Itemid=37

In 2003 Jasser was the head of the ICNEV's outreach program. Outreach is a euphemism for jihad through da'wa and Islamists believe that the world will become Islamised and shari'a will become the law via mass conversion of non- Muslims. Da'wa is a religious obligation on all practicing Muslims.

Excerpts from an article about the groundbreaking for the ICNEV in 2003.

The Islamic Center will help educate the community about Islam's authentic religious message by building bridges of understanding, says Ahmad.

People of all religions will be welcomed there to experience the true faith of Islam in a place where "honesty, integrity and charity are not optional, but required," he explains.

Approximately 250 people - including local, state and federal elected officials - gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony at the southwest corner of Via Linda and 122nd Street. Construction at the 3.38-acre site will begin by the end of April and be completed within a year. The 15,616-square-foot structure will include a prayer hall, multipurpose room, library and minaret.

The groundbreaking represents the culmination of efforts not only to lay the foundation of the structure, but also to foster understanding and cooperation in the neighborhood, says Zuhdi Jasser, director of outreach at the Islamic Center, in a phone interview.

"We had to express our responsiveness to their needs ... and establish a friendship," he says. "We are sort of like new neighbors. It takes time to get to know each other."…

Earlier efforts to foster mutual understanding - in this case between local Jews and Muslims - began three years ago in the form of a dialogue group, the Children of Abraham, spearheaded by Jasser and Rabbi B. Charles Herring of Temple Kol Ami of Scottsdale.

Children of Abraham initially included 12 Jews from Temple Kol Ami and 12 Muslims, who met regularly in private homes. They devoted early sessions to gaining an understanding of one another's religion, culture and values.

Almost every Muslim participant in the dialogue - now expanded to include a second group of Muslim and Jewish high school students - is a member of the Islamic Center, says Herring.

At the groundbreaking, Jasser gave Steve Weitzenkorn, Children of Abraham participant and president of Temple Kol Ami, a plaque that included an excerpt from the Koran on the importance of interfaith dialogue. Plaques of appreciation were also given to other religious leaders.

MIM: The concept of Abrahamic Faiths is a disingenuous one and is used and was started by Muslims to promote da'wa efforts under the guise of interfaith by telling Jews and Christians that their faiths only nominally differ while operating in the belief that they will be able to convert them after convincing them that Islam is the perfection of both religions and that Mohamed is the final prophet. Jasser's participation in this effort and his running of the mosque's da'wa enterprise prove that he is promoting Islam above other faiths which are considered inferior.

MIM: Outreach committee chairman Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser invited non Muslims to come to his mosque to "learn about our faith" an article about the groundbreaking for the ICNEV in 2011:

"With our neighbors of faith, pluralism is not only in their talk, but is in their walk," said M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Valley physician and chairman of the community outreach committee for the Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley. "It will be in the same spirit of our Christian and Jewish neighbors, where anyone can come in not only to learn about our faith, but to feel comfortable in the pluralistic brotherhood and sisterhood seen in all the faiths." http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/news/article_e4b3f0b7-c42a-50e5-a735-a8c912687e36.html?mode=jqm

http://www.aifdemocracy.org/about/principles.php

Resolved
in the adoption of the following mission, goals, and founding principles.

Mission: We proud citizens of the United States of America join together as devoted and patriotic citizens and as devout Muslims in this forum in order to serve as a vehicle for the discussion and public awareness of the complete compatibility of America's founding principles with the very personal faith of

Islam which we practice.

Core Principles and Goals:

  1. To be a voice of Muslim American citizenry in strong support of the following:
    1. The devout practice of Islam and the Islamic concept of consultation and consent (shura) as being wholly compatible with the American form of democracy
    2. The support of the separation of religion and state as being perfectly non-contradictory with Koranic principles.
    3. As United States citizens we support our American armed forces.
    4. As United States citizens we support absolute and literal adherence to our citizenship pledge.
    5. We support our American interests, domestic and foreign.
  1. To raise the public consciousness regarding the core principles above and the following additional goals and beliefs:
    1. We will promote tolerance in Islam as being a fundamental principle of the Holy Koran.
      1. We recognize the fact that there are no clergy in Islam and we accept the Koran as our main reference for discussions regarding our faith.
      2. We as a group in recognition of democratic principles believe that each Muslim is equally entitled to their opinion concerning the religion of Islam.
    2. We will work to educate the public regarding the existence of a special relationship between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
    3. We will work to educate the public regarding the current threat to America of radicals who exploit Islam through militancy.
    4. We explicitly refuse to acknowledge the justification of any form of terrorism (the targeting of civilians and non-combatants).
    5. We believe in that religion is a matter for individual beliefs without any role for the direct involvement of religion in government.
    6. We believe in the equality of the sexes which is well established in the Koran.
    7. We will work to promote and enhance the understanding of Islam in America.
    8. We will work to express the consistency of the principles of Islam with economic principles of free markets and capitalism.
    9. We will work to promote and enhance the education of Muslims in their history and development as it relates to American democracy and freedom.
    10. We will work to promote the appreciation of the integral role of American patriotism and nationalism in the life of Muslim youth in America.
    11. We will work to stimulate the principles which bring about increased understanding and involvement of American Muslim citizens in American life
    12. We will work to formulate expressions of positions on specific areas of American foreign and domestic policy as they relate to American interests and as relevant to the discussion of Islam and democratic principles
    13. While as Muslims and American citizens we will take stands on many of the diverse foreign policy positions of our government, we feel it is necessary to make a foundational position statement regarding the state of Israel. We stand in support of the existing unqualified recognition of the state of Israel behind internationally recognized borders.
    14. We also separately stand in recognition of the need for the completion of the formation of an independent Palestinian state on the current "occupied territories" living side by side next to the established state of Israel.
  1. AIFD is a tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S Internal Revenue code. Contributions are deductible under section 170 of the code.

MIM: After attending a talk by Zuhdi Jasser Eliana Benador wrote an article entitled "Misleading Moderate Muslim Zuhdi Jasser Promotes Islam in America". She referred to Jasser's newest book "A Battle for the Soul of Islam" An American Muslim Patriot's Battle to Save his Faith".

Excerpt:

http://www.rightsidenews.com/2012060616377/editorial/rsn-pick-of-the-day/benador-misleading-qmoderateq-muslim-zuhdi-jasser-promotes-islam-in-america.html

Excerpt:

CONCLUSION

Zuhdi Jasser never accepts responsibility that the attacks were a result of Islam and the Koran teachings. He never says he is sorry for 9/11. He also never condemns severely the acts of 9/11 committed by barbaric Muslim terrorists in the name of Islam. And when he does condemn, it is only to say it is not Islam, that they were not related to the religion of Islam, and that's blatantly delusional, misleading and deceptive.

People like Frank Gaffney, Steven Emerson, Brigitte Gabriel, Glenn Beck, and many others seem to have given into the Jasser charm, but sadly they are wrong. The man knows how to make friends. They would do well to ask him for his support of Israel and the Jewish people and they should ask him to do so by writing about it.

He should also condemn in unmistaken terms the attacks against humanity that explicitly appear in the Koran: Stoning, mutilations, honor killing, beheadings, pedophilia, and more.

His is a very shrewd move. When Zuhdi Jasser pretends to fight against CAIR, and then the Obama administration appoints their "good" Muslim as Commissioner of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, in the end the winner is Islam.

His achievements are serious: He has succeeded to infiltrate the elite. He is the Muslim contributor of choice in Fox News Channel, and that should be a clear signal of his closeness to that great pro Muslim Brotherhood supporter and Murdoch's friend, saudi prince Alwaleed. Jasser is also Commissioner at USCIFR, head of his own Muslim-facilitating organization, American Islamic Forum for Democracy. And he is a US Navy Lieutenant Colonel, and an invited guest speaker at conferences in Islam.

Making indiscriminately Assalam Alekhum to a man who rather wants to make America see how unfair we look at his people, is simply counterproductive.

Those in the know should be asking Zuhdi Jasser when will he start working within the Muslim world to actively promote change and hope, simply because only a revolution could stop terrorism to be exported by Muslims worldwide.

And he should remember that America is a Judeo-Christian country and that his people must adapt to our customs, not the other way around.

His is a very subtle strategy, and it is working, because Zuhdi Jasser, by his own account, is a proud devout Muslim, for whom, Islam is most certainly his number one priority.

Just remember that whenever Jasser wins over CAIR or others, it is Islam who wins.

MIM:Andrew Bostom an expert on the Koran and jihad had this to say about Jasser's book:

Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser's grossly inept understanding, or deliberately bowdlerized rendition of foundational, living Koranic doctrines disqualifies him as a serious discussant regarding the drastic reforms required of mainstream, institutional Islam.

Andrew G. Bostom is the author of The Legacy of Jihad (Prometheus, 2005) andThe Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism " (Prometheus, November, 2008)

Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser, Hamas, and "Human Rights"

Right Side News 4 September 2012
By Andrew Bostom

Last night (9/2/12) I was sent (unsolicited) the video link to a conference held 3-months ago at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), entitled, "Rescuing Human Rights." During his talk, one of the featured speakers, Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser, much ballyhooed as a "brave Muslim reformer," opined (at 11:00 to 11:25) that Hamas's openly declared annihilationist jihad against Israel was merely

…a tool for Hamas [and Hamas alone] to create a faith-based conflict…Us versus. them…Collectivist thinking which exploits human rights to oppress its own [ i.e., Palestinian Arab Muslim] people

Despite having been subjected to Jasser's personalized immoral equivalences (he claimed in 2007 my extensive analyses of Islamic Antisemitism effectively made me the moral equivalent of "exploiters" of his noble faith—such as Osama bin Laden!), even I found his UCSD statement shocking. Jasser blithely ignores that Hamas was elected by a landslide vote in Gaza during 2006, and due to its prevailing popularity, would likely dominate any proposed Hamas-Fatah "reconciliation government" for all the Palestinian Muslim enclaves in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria.

This award is a recognition for an individual's hard work and dedication to the Arizona community, and Imam Hlayhel's efforts embody this spirit of service and leadership.

In addition to Anas' full-time work as an engineer, he is also the imam of the Scottsdale Mosque - Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley. In this busy schedule, he has been able to travel the valley giving weekly sermons at Friday prayers, and holding talks during morning and evening times.

Imam Hlayhel also is an ambassador for the Muslim community in interfaith relations - participating in numerous programs throughout the Phoenix metro area, helping build understanding among faith communities. More recently, Imam Hlayhel was invited to give the opening prayer in front of the Arizona State Senate.

In all these combined efforts, in addition to handling his family duties - Anas was able to guide CAIR-AZ through difficult stages in its history, giving the organization stability and credibility.

"We want to thank Anas for his tireless effort in helping sustain CAIR-AZ and all that he does for the community," said Imraan Siddiqi, CAIR-AZ Chairman.

"We are now seeing the fruits of the great work he did with this organization, and presenting him with this award is the least we could do to show our sincere gratitude."

Please join CAIR-AZ in congratulating Imam Anas Hlayhel for his service to his community - as we will be presenting him with this honor at November 9th's CAIR-AZ Banquet at the Hilton Phoenix-Mesa.

MIM: Bio of Anas Hlayhel on his Muslim Matters webpage.

Born and raised in Lebanon, Hlayhel began attending study circles at his local mosque when he was ten. He came to the United States at 17 and studied electrical engineering at the University of Houston. At its MSA, he met Sh Yasir Qadhi and worked together to raise Islamic awareness on campus. Hlayhel studied traditional sciences of Aqeedah (Islamic creed), Fiqh (Islamic law) and Nahw (Arabic grammar) under Sh Waleed Basyouni and Sh Waleed Idriss Meneese among others. After settling in Phoenix AZ, he worked tirelessly, in the capacity of a board member then a chairman, to revive the then dead AZ chapter of CAIR in order to face the growing Islamophobia in that state and to address the resulting civil right violations. Today, he's considered the second founder of a strong CAIR-AZ. In addition, Hlayhel is a part-time imam at the Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley in Phoenix, husband and father of four. His current topics of interest include positive Islam, youth coaching, and countering Islamophobia.

9/17/14 Update:

MIM: Jasser's mosque, the Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley, has joined with CAIR and the ACLU to call for the cancellation of a anti Islamist presentation being held by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office by two counter terrorism experts, Clare Lopez a Senior Fellow at the Center For Security Policy and Former FBI agent John Guandolo who runs a website called Understanding The Threat. Ironically Jasser has often taken part in CSP events as the token "moderate Muslim" voice and was recognized by the FBI as a "Defender of the Home Front" at their annual CSP Keeper of the Flame Dinner in 2008.

(The question is where Jasser's outrage at his mosque's attempts to silence his "colleagues" is to be seen now.)

ICNEV Announcements

On September 19th, the MCAO is hosting a training presentation on "Islamic extremism" with known Islamophobes. John Guandolo and Clare Lopez - two headlining speakers at this training event - are known for their well-documented anti-Muslim hate rhetoric. Arizona Muslim community leaders, along with the ACLU, wrote to Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery highlighting concerns over allowing hate speakers to train our law enforcement and prosecutors.

Rather than dropping these discredited and controversial speakers, Montgomery doubled down on his commitment to move forward with the Islamophobic training.

· CALL 602-506-3411 and WRITE the MCAO to let them know we cannot allow anti-Muslim hate groups to come and train our law enforcement with our tax dollars. Let Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery know that state-sponsored Islamophobia is not acceptable.

ACLU, Muslim Leaders Demand Maricopa County Attorney Cancel Biased Presentation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHOENIX – The ACLU of Arizona and leader of Arizona's Muslim community today sent a letter to Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery demanding he cancel a biased, anti-Muslim presentation his office plans to host next week for law enforcement personnel from across Arizona.

"The use of anti-Muslim trainers and materials is highly offensive, disparages the faith of millions of Americans, and inevitably leads to biased policing that targets individuals and communities based on religion and ethnicity, and not on criminal acts or evidence of wrongdoing," states the letter, which was signed by leaders of the Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Arizona Muslim Police Advisory Board, the Muslim American Society of Arizona, the Islamic Community Center of Tempe, the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix and the Islamic Center of the North East Valley as well as the ACLU of Arizona.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is scheduled to host John Guandolo and his "Understanding the Threat" associates on Friday, Sept. 19. Guandolo and his associates are noted for inaccurate and dangerous statements based on their animus and bigotry towards the Muslim community.

Guandolo has been described as a "notorious Muslim-basher and conspiracy theorist who resigned from the FBI before he could be investigated for misconduct."

"The sponsorship by the County Attorney reflects a pattern by Maricopa County law enforcement of insensitivity toward Muslims and hostility to minority and immigrant communities," the authors say in the letter before demanding the presentation be cancelled.

MIM: As Outreach aka Dawa coordinator of his mosque Jasser propagates the myth of the Abrahamic faiths. This is a ploy based on the purported similiarities in Judaism and Islam which is intended to mislead people into believing that "reversion" to Islam is the logical course of action as Islam is hyped to be the peniultimate fusion of both faiths. This year Jasser exploited the timing of Yom Kippur and Ramadan to issue a fawning message to his "Jewish friends and supporters" many of whom provide him with funding.

"...To our Jewish friends and supporters: we wish to offer you blessings of peace and meaningful reflection for Yom Kippur. On this, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, we honor your commitment to seek G-d's forgiveness while fasting. The fast of Yom Kippur, which follows guidelines similar to our fasts for the holy month of Ramadan, as well as the confluence of these holy days between our faiths remind us that what we share as descendants of Abraham can serve as a powerful and tangible reminder of how strong we can be when we work together for a better world. Just as Yom Kippur is preceded by 10 holy days and worship during the Jewish calendar's lunar month of Tishrei, so too is Eid Al-Adha preceded by 10 days that commemorate the Hajj (pilgrimage) during the Muslim calendar's lunar month of Dhu-al-Hijja..."

MIM:Jasser's Mosque the ICNEV recently had ex GITMO guard Terry Holdbrooks who converted to Islam speak. The event was held at the mosque and promoted by the Muslim Legal Fund Of America which has a track record of defending and providing funding and legal aid to terrorists and their supporters.

"Terry Holdbrooks is a US Army veteran who was a guard in Camp Delta, Guantanamo Bay. His experience there led him to accept Islam in 2003. Now is your chance to hear an inside perspective and get firsthand accounts of GiTMO."https://www.mlfa.org/event/oct-19-gitmo-guard-comes-scottsdale-icnev/
