The Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza on Sunday called for an escalation of terror attacks on Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria as an "expression of support" for the war on Israel being waged from Gaza.

Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum told the Palestinian Arab Safa news agency that such terror attacks serve to wear down the "occupation" and press Israel to end the "aggression" in Gaza, by forcing it to open the blockade and submit to Hamas's demands.

According to the Hamas representative, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's "insistence" not to accept Hamas's demands, which include a sea and airport in Gaza, are "an additional new act of foolishness and gambling that will bring more disasters on him and the Israelis, beyond the decision for aggression and a ground war against Gaza."

While Netanyahu last Tuesday reportedly was "softening" ministers up to Israeli concessions in truce talks with Hamas in Cairo, on Sunday he vowed not to give Hamas a "political achievement."

However, the Egyptian truce proposal, which Hamas has apparently rejected, reportedly would have Israel ease the blockade on Gaza and allow construction materials in despite the use of cement to build terror tunnels. It further would cancel the perimeter no-entry zone on the Gaza side of the border, meant to deter terrorist infiltration, and have Israel help rebuild Gaza.

Larger issues such as the disarmament of Gaza and the Hamas demand for a sea and airport would be postponed to talks held within a month after the truce takes effect.

Barhoum's call for terror in Jerusalem and the region comes two weeks after he praised an Arab terrorist in Jerusalem who killed an Israeli and wounded four others in Jerusalem with a tractor.

"The action in Jerusalem was very brave, a natural response to the occupation," said Barhoum. "We call on those living in the West Bank and Jerusalem to continue fighting, no one needs to command them what to do."

The call also mirrors recent statements by Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, which has vowed a return to terror against Israel in Judea and Samaria, as well as Gaza.
