Allies: Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood And Al-Qaeda

April 1, 2014

April 1, 2014 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – If one needed more proof that President Obama's claim that al-Qaeda is all but dead and buried is absurd, we note that on March 19 elite units of the Egyptian armed forces attacked and destroyed an al-Qaeda linked bomb making cell located within an hour's drive of Cairo.

The group running the operation, Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis - an al-Qaeda franchise – is working with Egypt's terrorist Muslim Brotherhood in an attempt to overthrow the country's military-run government.

"There is no doubt logistic support exists," terrorist expert Major Khaled Okasha told Al-Ahram Weekly. "It comes from elements who track and monitor and who have communications and other support mechanisms. I expect these activities are undertaken by Muslim Brotherhood elements residing in the villages and infiltrated among the people. It would have been easy for them to follow what happened during the operation and to transmit their accounts to their counterparts in Al-Qaeda/Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis. This not only points to the close alliance between the two but also to how the Muslim Brotherhood functions." [source, Ahmed Eleiba, Networks of terror, Al Ahram Weekly]

According to reports, the cell consisted of 14 people, 6 of whom were killed in the raid with the others having been taken into custody.

In addition to small arms and bomb belts, 5 tons of explosives were seized in the operation, which is believed to have been intended to destroy the technology controlling the flow of water in the Nile River Delta, which would be disastrous.

"Five tons of explosives were seized during the Arab Sharkas raid in addition to explosive belts…The quantity of explosives was more than enough to destroy the Qanater barrages which control the flow of the Nile into the Delta…"

That subversives were able to so freely obtain and move a huge quantity of explosives, thought to have been trucked in from Libya [thanks again Mr. Obama, "liberating" Libya has paid such handsome dividends] indicates that there is a network of jihadist groups acting in common purpose to cause societal meltdown.

At least two members of the Arab Sharkas cell are strongly suspected of having participated [as part of the Nasra Front] in Syria's bloody internecine war, demonstrating the trans-national nature of al-Qaeda's ever growing threat.

Not surprisingly, not a single major Western news source even picked the story up. As a matter of fact a Google search turned up only two media entities, aside from Al Ahram, that even covered the matter, meaning that the MSM has been caught once again acting in unison to keep the civilized world in the dark regarding the "rebirth" of al-Qaeda.

We place the blame here squarely on the thin shoulders of Mr. Obama, whose entire presidency has been one act of capitulation to the Islamists after another, starting with the President's now infamous June 4, 2009 Cairo speech and capped by his decision to abandon Afghanistan, Iraq and Egypt, to destabilize Libya, meddle in Syria and ignore the jihadist resurgence across Africa.

As we have previously noted, the Islamists [and ditto here the ChiComs and the Vlad Putin's resurgent USSR] see appeasement and weakness as provocative and have acted accordingly.

Sometime such broad issues can be encapsulated in a single factoid and we believe that is the case here. Since the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi Team Obama has failed to make a single arrest. When an enemy as determined as the Islamic jihad sees this they know they can act with impunity; hence they are on the march while America is in full retreat.
