It staggers the imagination that a children's school which was home to terrorists and is supported by groups linked to international terrorism has not only been allowed to continue, but actually expand their buildings and merge with other Islamic elementary schools such as The Garden of the Sahaba in from the Islamic Center of Boca Raton. The fundraiser for the Universal Academy is more proof that radical Islam continues to flourish in Florida and the second generation of Jihadis has already begun their education. Other terrorists who passed through the SISB are the now jailed Adham Hassoun, who helped Padilla on his way to Jihad training in Pakistan. The SISB is a Saudi Wahabist Al Qaeda front which was endorsed by the so called Grand Mufti Ikrima Sabri, who made a point of praising child suicide bombers. In 2003 Sabri paid a visit to the SISB and can be seen with Shah holding the plans for the Tawfik Salah elementary. (see below). In a perversely amusing and at the same time ominous not Mohamed Javed Qureshi announced last year that the SISB has initiated a program for non Muslim students to attend classes at the SISB. Note A Broward School board spokeman recently said that they were not aware of any interfaith student program involving the SISB. Which still begs the question as to why anyone, Muslim or non Muslim, would allow their child to attend what could aptly be named 'The School for Islamist Suicidebombers' out of deference to their patrons,Grand Mufti of Al Aqsa Ikrima Sabri , who encourages child martyrdom ,and Saudi Sheik Abdur Rahman Al Sudais, who went on Saudi television and urged Muslims to kill Jews and American worshippers of the cross". "...At the School of Islamic Studies of Broward, co-founder Mohammad Javed Qureshi has initiated a program in which students invite their friends from public school to attend classes with them at the after-school religious academy in Sunrise. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/education/sfl-pattack13apr13,0,4086465.story?coll=sfla-news-education MIM: While on the subject of terrorists running, and running around Islamic elementary schools, in the interests of clarity it should be noted that the Universal Academy of Tampa- UAF is hosting terrorist supporters Shah and Johari at their annual school fundraiser. The UAF should not be confused with the IAF -The Islamic Academy of Florida, whose founder, former USF professor Sami Al Arian,is now in jail awaiting terrorism charges, which include the murder of a hundred people by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group he funded and controlled from his office on the USF campus.http://www.sptimes.com/2004/05/21/Hernando/Living__learning_thei.shtml -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 14, 2005 What: UAF Annual Fundraising Dinner, "Striving for Excellence" The two speakers at the innocuously named Universal Academy's upcoming 'fundraiser' are directly connected to international terrorism. Zulfiqar Ali Shah is the CEO of the Universal Heritage Foundation in Kissimmee. He is the former president of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) a group directly tied to Al Qaeda, and was the principal of the School for Islamic Studies in Broward . The SISB's co founder, Mohammed Javed Qureshi, was dirty bomb plotter Jose Padilla's employer and mentor (who aided his conversion to Islam). The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Ikrima Sabri was a guest at the groundbreaking for the Salah Tarfik elementary school connected to the SISB . Sabri's presence at the groundbreaking of an Islamic elementary school together with Shah is another indication of the radical Islamist curriculum at Islamic schools. Sabri made headlines two years ago when he praised child suicide bombers and said; "the younger the martyr the more I respect him". Abdul Malik Johari, a featured speaker at the fundraiser,is the 'outreach coordinator' for the Dar Al Hijrah mosque in Washington DC. The mosque was labelled the first most dangerous mosque in America by Paul Sperry, who wrote the book "Infilitration" about terrorist networks in America.( The second most dangerous mosque belonged to Adhan Shukrijumah's father) . Johari was recently involved in intense fundraising efforts for jailed terrorist recruiter Ali Al Timimi, so his efforts on behalf of the Universal Academy in Florida should come as no surprise, and the funding could also be intended to help Ali Al Tamimi, a George Mason graduate who finished his Phd at the time of his indictment. (see below) MIM: In a St. Petersburg Times article entitled "Learning their way, the reporter gushes that the UAF has had "a mostly peaceful existence"...as opposed to the other local Islamic school, the Islamic Academy, which had there vouchers revoked as a result of founder Sami Al Arian's terrorism involvement. Which begs the question as to why UAF is hosting a fundraiser with someone like Abdul Malik Johari, who is raising money for terrorist recruiter Al Al Tamimi, and Zulfiqar Ali Shah, whose own elementary school was cofounded by Mohammed Javed Qureshi, the mentor of dirty bomb plotter, Jose Padilla. Reaching out in times of uncertainty Universal Academy has had a mostly peaceful existence, which puts it in stark contrast to the other Muslim school in Tampa - Islamic Academy of Florida. That school was co-founded by former University of South Florida professor Sami Al-Arian, who was arrested and is awaiting trial on charges that he raised money for Palestinian terrorists. In Al-Arian's indictment, Islamic Academy of Florida was described as a front for Al-Arian's terrorist fundraising. At the time of his arrest, Al-Arian's school drew only a handful of students from Hernando County. However, four Hernando County Muslims were then part of its governing board. Since the indictment and Al-Arian's arrest, those board members have resigned from Al-Arian's school, and the local families have withdrawn their students, some of them transferring to Universal Academy. Despite its mission as a Muslim school and its similar name, Universal Academy of Florida seems to have suffered no ill repercussions from the troubles that have beset Al-Arian's Islamic Academy. http://www.sptimes.com/2004/05/21/Hernando/Living__learning_thei.shtml " ...Tampa, Florida served as the effective command and control center of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization in the United States until federal agents descended in November 1995 upon the homes of suspected Islamic Jihad leaders who also served as professors at the University of South Florida in Tampa. A treasure trove of intelligence materials was seized from the home of an (computer) engineering professor (Sami Al Arian) and from the office of Professor Ramadan Abdullah Shallah - who subsequently surfaced in Damascus as the official head of Islamic Jihad. http://www.jfednepa.org/mark%20silverberg/sleeper.html --------------------------------------------------------------- Alleged Terrorist Recruiter on Trial http://pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/trib/regional/s_320260.html But at the nearby Dar Al Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, where as many as 3,000 Muslims attend Friday prayers, spokesmen are not hesitant to talk. Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, the mosque outreach director, said al-Timimi is a brother in need in a Muslim community under siege. Al-Timimi's supporters in northern Virginia have held various fund-raisers, first for legal costs for the 11 men charged in the so-called Virginia paintball jihad network and now for al-Timimi. Abdul-Malik said the community still reels from the prosecution of the 11 men, only three of whom ever went to Pakistan and none of whom made it to the Taliban. Over the last year, two of the men were acquitted. Six pleaded guilty to lesser counts, including federal firearms and explosives charges and conspiracy. The remaining three were convicted of violating the Neutrality Act in a conspiracy in which prosecutors charged the men took up arms to aid a foreign power. Prison sentences for the nine who pleaded guilty or were convicted ranged from three years to life in prison. Abdul-Malik said the Muslim community in northern Virginia has rallied around their families. "About the only thing we haven't done is a car wash. Whether it is individuals soliciting people privately, dinner sales, bake sales after the prayers or an international bazaar, we've done it," Abdul-Malik said.... "...Who al-Timimi's supporters are isn't clear. A support committee has launched a sophisticated Web site and raised more than $150,000 for his defense, but those underwriting the effort are hesitant to discuss it. "Many people in the community want to help and donate money, but they are so scared from government harassments(sic). No one is willing to come and announce his/her name to the media. Our community is in a state of paranoia," an anonymous spokesman for al-Timimi's support group wrote in response to a request for comment from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. ----------------- MIM: Ali Al Timimi was convicted of urging people to wage Jihad against America and is out on bail awaiting sentencing. the fundraiser for the UAF will doubtless take his bail into account and encourage Muslims to donate generously. American born Al Tamimi got his Phd shortly before his trial and conviction and will, no doubt serve as an example of the 'Striving for Excellence' which the UAF plans to help it's students acheive. The Mufti of Jerusalem, the city's highest Muslim religious authority, is calling for the complete "liberation" by Palestinians not only of Jerusalem, but of all of Israel, and stresses that "sacrifice" and "martyrdom" of Palestinian children prove that "the new generation will carry on the mission with determination." Speaking to the Egyptian weekly, Al-Ahram Al-Arabi, Sheik 'Ikrima Sabri, the Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine, addressed several issues regarding the Israeli-Arab conflict -- including his admiration for the child "martyrs." We cannot establish a homeland by only liberating Jerusalem. It is true that Salah Al-Din did not rest until Jerusalem was liberated, but this does not suggest that the rest of this blessed land is to be neglected or given up. ..." Stressing that "Every Palestinian is, in fact, in a state of Jihad," Sabri praised the Palestinian "martyrs," and particularly the children that are proudly thrust by their parents and other combatants into the frontlines of conflicts with Israelis. "I feel the martyr is lucky because the angels usher him to his wedding in heaven," he said... ..."There is no doubt that a child [martyr] suggests that the new generation will carry on the mission with determination," said the Mufti, appointed by Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat. "The younger the martyr, the greater and the more I respect him. ... One wrote his name on a note before he died. He wrote: 'the martyr so and so.' In every martyr's pocket we find a note with his name on it. He sentences himself to martyrdom even before he becomes a martyr." In response to the interviewer's question, "Is this why the mothers cry with joy when they hear about their sons' death?" Sabri answered: "They willingly sacrifice their offspring for the sake of freedom. It is a great display of the power of belief. The mother is participating in the great reward of the Jihad to liberate Al-Aqsa ... I talked to a young man ... [who] said: '... I want to marry the black-eyed [beautiful] women of heaven.' The next day he became a martyr. I am sure his mother was filled with joy about his heavenly marriage. Such a son must have such a mother." Asked, "How do you feel about the Jews?" Sabri answered: "I enter the mosque of Al-Aqsa with my head up and at the same time I am filled with rage toward the Jews. I have never greeted a Jew when I came near one. I never will. They cannot even dream that I will. The Jews do not dare to bother me, because they are the most cowardly creatures Allah has ever created. ..." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "...As recently as February 20, Ikrima Sabri, Mufti of Jerusalem, appeared on Al-Majd satellite TV to comment on the assassination of Rafik Hariri, the former Lebanese Prime Minister, and said: "Anyone who studies The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and specifically the Talmud will discover that one of the goals of these Protocols is to cause confusion in the world and to undermine security throughout the world." http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,7-1506190_2,00.html
