Obama State Department Sanctifies Egypt's Morsi, Muslim Brotherhood

July 16, 2012

July 16, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, travelled to Cairo this weekend to personally consult with Mohamed Morsi, Egypt's president elect.

Her presence there was an act of supplication and a not so veiled endorsement of a future Egypt solely guided by the shari'a.

The Secretary's manner seemed one of approval as she sat across from Morsi, a high ranking member of the Muslim Brotherhood's leadership who in his spare time, just happens to be Egypt's political leader. Comfortably presiding over court for his guest, Morsi looked satifyingly contented, and who could blame him?

Below from State's official announcement:

"This is, of course, a time marked by many historic firsts, and it is very clear that Egyptians are in the midst of complex negotiations about the transition, from the composition of your parliament to the writing of a new constitution to the powers of the president. Only Egyptians can answer these questions, but I have come to Cairo to reaffirm the strong support of the United States for the Egyptian people and for your democratic transition." The conditions under which Mr. Morsi assumed control of the country were more than suspect. There were widespread and credible allegations of widespread fraud including vote buying, outright coercion and violence on the part of Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood which is now undoubtedly Egypt's most potent political force.

Though doctrinal issues separate them from the Salafists, there is broad practical agreement between the two regarding the need to fully institutionalize shari'a, hence they are aligned on the age old dictum, "the enemy of my enemy, is my ally," thus Morsi's true political heft might be far greater than it seems.

SCAF [the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces], the military authority lurking in plain sight, is certainly an important and to some the ultimate arbiter of what role Egypt will assume on the world diplomatic and political stage, is beyond the scope of this writing [for some reference as to the latter half of that perspective please refer to, Dr. Daniel Pipes, Cynthia Farahat, Egypt's Real Ruler: Mohamed Tantawi, http://www.danielpipes.org/11584/mohamed-tantawi].

In any regard, Mr. Obama's obvious tilt toward the Brotherhood, tracing back publicly to at least since his now infamous Cairo address, is indicative of an administration which either totally misunderstands the radical and revolutionary direction in which the country is turning or worse, fully comprehends it and for some inexplicable reason actually supports the idea of an Iranian like theocracy situated in this strategic part of the world.

As a result, Egypt's peace treaty with Israel hangs in precarious balance, a fact which should not be lost on America's burgeoning, apparently post -Zionist, Jewish leadership. Given the historical direction in which Middle East is drifting, these supposed defenders of Jewry might finally be brought face to face, in the starkest of terms, with the political consequences inherent in their revisionist reading of Jewish history.
