Congressional Candidate Joe Kaufman kicked out of Debbie Wasserman Schultz event

Wasserman Schultz trying to avoid questions about Medicare and Israel from her opponent

(Pembroke Pines, FL) At a town hall meeting today featuring DNC Chair and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, held at the Century Pines Jewish Center in Century Village, Republican Congressional Candidate Joe Kaufman was escorted out of the event by security.

Kaufman was merely shaking hands and introducing himself to event goers, when he was asked to leave.

According to security, Wasserman Schultz claimed that the event was "private" and stated that she did not want to field questions from her opponent. Kaufman is vying for Wasserman Schultz's Congressional seat in Florida's District 20.

Before Wasserman Schultz arrived, Kaufman was told by security that there was no problem with him being there or asking questions from the audience.

Kaufman stated, "I was planning on asking the Congresswoman about why she voted to cut 500 billion dollars out of Medicare and why she supports putting pressure on Israel to go back to indefensible pre-1967 borders, but I guess she is afraid to face me. I cannot wait for the opportunity to debate her on these issues and more."
