FBI Busts Two Suspected Iraqi Jihadis In Kentucky Then Kowtows To Muslim Community

May 31, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - In a breaking announcement available at the DOJ website [see, http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/2011/May/11-nsd-701.html] two Iraqi nationals residing in Bowling Green, Kentucky have been indicted on federal terror charges.

"Waad Ramadan Alwan, 30, and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, 23, both former residents of Iraq who currently reside in Bowling Green, were charged in a 23-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Bowling Green on May 26, 2011. Alwan is charged with conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals abroad; conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction (explosives) against U.S. nationals abroad; distributing information on the manufacture and use of IEDs; attempting to provide material support to terrorists and to al-Qaeda in Iraq; as well as conspiracy to transfer, possess and export Stinger missiles. Hammadi is charged with attempting to provide material support to terrorists and to al-Qaeda in Iraq, as well as conspiracy to transfer, possess and export Stinger missiles."

In what has become standard operating procedure now at Team Obama's DOJ, the announcement was accompanied by the dhimmi-like statement by David J. Hale, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, "Let me be clear that this is not an indictment against a particular religious community or religion. Instead, this indictment charges two individuals with federal terrorism offenses."

We suggest that such attempts to paper over the obvious, that the overwhelming majority of those busted in these types of operations are Muslim, is counterproductive. They send a message of weakness and are by their very nature provocative in that the Fed's reluctance to mention religious fanaticism emboldens those whom DOJ seek to placate. It also makes it exceeding difficult for the few moderate Muslims willing to speak out because the FBI's apologetic statements [aka groveling] make it appear that there is no need for Islamic reformation despite the vast amount of evidence to the contrary.
