May 23, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - According to a posting on the Muslim Brotherhood website, Mohammed ElBaradei, probably the most recognizable public face of the organization, met with Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, the head of Egypt's Higher Military Council, to advocate that the country's presidential election should be held before the late summer scheduled parliamentary contest. Seemingly in agreement with the MB request, Amr Mousa, the Arab League's Secretary General was also in attendance.
We believe that after this year's Egyptian elections, the ephemera of democracy, designed for Western consumption will evaporate from view, leaving the Muslim Brotherhood effectively in control of Egypt's state apparatus.
