Peter Siebelt Exposes Bertus Hendriks As Pro-Islamist

April 18, 2011

By BEILA RABINOWITZ

April 18, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org LLC - In his piece Wilders Trial and Witness Bertus Hendriks, Dutch investigative journalist and author Peter Siebelt details the "path from Marx to Allah" which was taken by Hendriks over the past decades. Siebelt traces Hendriks' involvement in leftwing causes and his meetings with Arafat and pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas support groups. Hendriks is scheduled to testify against Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders at his "hate speech," trial on April 15, accused of insulting Muslims and discrimination [view official charges lodged against Mr. Wilders, http://www.wildersontrial.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=26&Itemid=4]

According to Siebelt, Hendriks is an apologist for terrorism and virulently anti-Israel, "Hendriks is one of many career activists who attempts to whitewash Palestinian terror attacks with statements such as "I condemn it but you have to understand the reason behind it...." [source, http://www.hetvrijevolk.com/index.php?pagina=13119, translated from the Dutch by the author]

Additionally, Siebelt claims Hendriks uses the time worn tactic of an agendized parsing of the language pertaining to Hamas, stating that while it is not a terror organization per se, that it does employ the tactics of national liberation movements which sometimes include terrorism.

Given Bertus Hendriks' obvious pro-Islamist bias, including him as a witness against Wilders is irresponsible. The fact that this is the best that the Dutch government can do to possibly railroad Mr. Wilders into jail is in itself indicative of The Hague government's intellectual and moral bankruptcy.
