Public Protests in Syria Against Assad

March 15 2011- Militant Islam Monitor- On Tuesday thousands of Syrians staged protests in several cities in the country against the rule of dictator Basher al- Assad. The planned demonstrations were billed as a "Day of Rage" and to call for "free elections and a change of government". Police acted violently to quell the protests charging demonstators and beating them.
More protests are slated for Wednesday in Damascus.
Israel National News commented that:
