Germany, Holland And Belgium Bust Jihadist Groups

December 14, 2010

December 14, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - German security officials raided the premises of two jihadist groups today, Invitation to Paradise and the Islamic Center Bremen. [see, Germany Mounts Raids Against Islamists In Three Cities, Expatica, http://www.expatica.com/de/news/german-news/germany-mounts-raids-against-islamists-in-three-cities_117320.html]. Both of the groups sought to overthrow the civil order and establish Shari'a by way of an Islamic caliphate in its place.

Today's actions in Germany are part of a larger, still unfolding European effort involving additional arrests in Holland and Belgium, with the latter country apparently being the central focus of the suspected plot.

A spokesman for the Belgium prosecutors' office tersely stated, "In total 10 people suspected of preparing an attack in Belgium were arrested in Belgium, Holland and Germany." [see, Terror Suspects Arrested In Germany, The Local, http://www.thelocal.de/national/20101123-31363.html]

Intel reports have pointed to possible al-Qaeda involvement in a large terror operation, hence both Europe and America are operating on heightened security.
