J STREET ENDORSES SUPPORTER OF RADICAL MUSLIM GROUP
CONGRESSMAN JOE SESTAK SPOKE AT CAIR EVENT AND EMPLOYED CAIR STAFFER
(Washington, DC) J Street, a group that claims to be "pro-Israel" and "pro-peace," is currently endorsing the candidacy of and raising money for U.S. Representative Joe Sestak, a supporter of CAIR.
CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic Relations was created by operatives from Hamas. According to the U.S. Justice Department, when CAIR was established in 1994, it had dealings with then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook.
CAIR has used its official website to raise money for Hamas and al-Qaeda charities.
CAIR, this month, gave a "Lifetime Achievement" award to the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic Helen Thomas.
Representative Sestak has spoken at a banquet for CAIR in April 2007. A dozen banquet photos of Sestak are currently found on CAIR-Pennsylvania's website, including three pictures of him speaking to Ahmed Bedier, the former unofficial spokesman for convicted Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist, Sami al-Arian.
Additionally, Sestak has hired a CAIR staffer, Adeeba al-Zaman, to be an employee at his Congressional office. According to CAIR-Pennsylvania's website, Al-Zaman was the group's Director of Communications from April 2005 to September 2006.
Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH), stated, "There is a problem with a group that calls itself ‘pro-Israel,' while that same group is endorsing and raising funds for a politician who has had involvement with a Hamas-related organization."
J Street is also currently endorsing the candidacy of and raising funds for Keith Ellison, a U.S. Representative who recently visited the Gaza offices and Gaza leaders of Islamic Relief, a group that Israel has labeled a front for Hamas.
Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: email@example.com.
