Dutch Diplomats get Talking Points Regarding Wilders

Now that Geert Wilders Freedom Party has won enough votes to become part of the Cabinet. Dutch diplomats abroad have received instructions on what to say regarding questions posed about Wilders and his platform.

Among the instructions are to emphasize that Wilders and his party will not become part of the government and that his plans to ban the Koran and stop the building of mosques is against the Dutch constitution. Diplomats are advised not to answer the question of how it came about that the Freedom Party received so many votes. The instructions are in the cadre of "passive public diplomacy" and were put together by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. A copy of the questions and answers is available at this link: vragen en antwoorden.
