Radical Saudi cleric Al Sudais opens new mosque in UK attached to government funded school
July 22, 2010
MIM: On July 17 the Arab News published an article about how Sheik Abdul Rahman Al- Sudais an imam employed by the Saudi government and head cleric of the Grand Mosque in Mecca opened a new mosque in the northwest of England. Attached to the mosque is the only government funded Islamic high school in the northwest of England.
Sheik Al- Sudais was banned from entering the United States several years ago. In a 2002 sermon he called Jews"the scum of humanity, the rats of the world, the killers of prophets and the grandsons of monkeys and pigs."
He has called upon Muslims to "kill Jews and American worshippers of the cross." http://126.96.36.199/search?q=cache:f-JVB87t4KwJ:www.nationalreview.com/interrogatory/timmerman200311210851.asp+al+sudais&hl=en&ie=UTF-
"...these clerics are in fact employees of the state. No one can ascend to the minaret of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, as Sheik Abdelaziz Al Sudais does regularly, without the sanction of the king. After the terror attacks in Saudi Arabia, Al-Sudais was widely quoted for having declared that the perpetrators were 'un-Islamic' because their victims included Arabs and Muslims. At a sermon during the Haj in Mecca, Men and women of all ages, races and backgrounds, thronged to the Grand Mosque in Mecca at noon, to listen to an emotional sermon by Sheik Abdel Rahman Al-Sudais, appealing for support for the Palestinian Intifada [the uprising against Israel], against the Israeli occupation. Holding back tears, he said that he hoped for the day when Islam's holiest shrine, the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, would be freed from the 'hands of the Zionist gang'..."http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/669554/post
According to the Arab News:
"The new Tauheedul Islam Mosque is the largest in Lancashire and cost 3.5 million pounds ($5.37 million). Qatar's royal family provided an initial donation of 1.5 million pounds for the basic construction of the mosque, with the remainder generated from the Blackburn community. The community had outgrown the much smaller mosque, which was established at the same site in the 1960s....
"Student Saeeda Patel, who welcomed Al-Sudais, described him as a model for millions of Muslims around the world being the imam of the Grand Mosque, which houses the Holy Kaaba to which Muslims all over the world turn when praying. "Our school, which was established 25 years ago, is one of the leading Islamic schools in the UK," she said. There are 430 students now. It is the only government-funded Islamic girls high school in the northwest of England."
MIM: The Tauheedul Islam Mosque openly asserts that dawah (bring non Muslims to Islam) is their mission.
