Muslim Congressmen to Speak at Islamist Conference

Both Congressman Keith Ellison [DFL-MN] and Andre Carson [D-IN] are scheduled to speak at the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America [ISNA].

ISNA was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the United States' most extensive prosecution of terror funding, U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation [HLF], which proved the phony Islamic charity HLF, gave at least $12 million dollars to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

ISNA has credibly been reported as having substantial funding from Saudi Arabia, "Some of ISNA's own members have raised concerns on another issue: large donations from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia follows an extreme version of Islam known as Wahhabism, and questions continue to swirl around Saudi connections to terrorism, including the attack on 9-11. A videotape obtained by Eyewitness News shows a 1994 ISNA convention where one member questioned why the organization accepted more than $500,000 dollars in Saudi donations. This is significant because Saudi Arabia is the chief exporter of the most radical form of Islam, Wahhabism. Additionally the Saudis assert tremendous influence all over the world spreading this form of Islam through the building of radical mosques.

According to Discover The Networks, "ISNA was created by MSA [Muslim Student Association] with the help of one of Palestinian Islamic Jihad's founding students, Sami Al-Arian...ISNA's annual conventions draw more attendees - usually over 30,000 - than any other Muslim gathering in the Western Hemisphere." The MSA is widely understood to be closely associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The event entitled "Nurturing Compassionate Communities: Connecting Faith and Service" is scheduled to take place in Rosemont, Illinois from July 2nd to the 5th.

Among the radical speakers [see, http://www.isna.net/Conferences/pages/Annual-Convention.aspx] also in attendance will be Zaid Shakir, who has produced a CD entitled "Jihad or Terrorism?" in which he blames "the enemies of Islam" for equating the two, Siraj Wahhaj, an un-indicted co conspirator in the 1993 plot to bomb New York landmarks, and Tariq Ramadan [grandson of the founder of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood , Hassan al-Banna] who until recently was banned from entering the United States due to terror concerns.

That ban was recently [and quietly] lifted by the Obama administration as part of its [so-far unsuccessful] effort to ingratiate itself with the Muslim world.
