ISLAMIC CIRCLE AFFILIATED WITH OVERSEAS EXTREMIST MOVEMENT TARGETING THE UNITED STATES

(Hartford, CT) Later this month, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) will be featuring as the main speaker at its 35th annual convention, Siraj Wahhaj, a radical imam whose name is on the U.S. government's list of "unindicted co-conspirators" for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The event, which is being co-sponsored by the Muslim American Society (MAS), will be taking place in Hartford, Connecticut from May 29 – 31.

Also found on the U.S. list for the '93 bombing are Osama bin Laden and bin Laden's mentor, Abdullah Azzam.

ICNA, whose national headquarters is in Queens, New York, is the American arm of the Muslim Brotherhood of Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), a group which is currently running a highly vocal anti-U.S. campaign across South Asia titled ‘Go America Go.' The homepage of JI's official website states, "All Pakistan loving forces must unite against America."

ICNA is currently a partner to JI's charity, the Al-Khidmat Welfare Society (AKWS).

All of this is of concern, given that the failed bomb plot in New York City's Times Square was allegedly conspired as retaliation for American attacks against Islamic radicals in Pakistan.
