Feds Say NY Terror Plotter Najibullah Zazi Had Contact With Top Afghan Al-Qaeda Leader

October 14, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Forbes magazine is reporting that Najibullah Zazi, so far the main suspect in the recently discovered New York terror bombing plot, had been in contact with the top al-Qaeda operative in Afghanistan.

"The U.S. officials say Mustafa Abu al-Yazid used an intermediary to contact the 24-year-old Najibullah Zazi, of Colorado, as he hatched a plot to attack New York's mass transit system." [source, http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2009/10/14/general-us-nyc-terror_7000978.html]

Zazi, who was originally charged with lying to the FBI was observed on security cameras purchasing the components for making TATP in a beauty supply store. TATP is a powerful and unstable explosive believed to have been used in London's 7/7 terror bombings.
