CA Pols Share Iftar With Hamas Front Group CAIR

September 3, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR] a Saudi funded Hamas front group and unindicted co-conspirator in the United States' largest terror funding case, U.S. vs Holy Land Foundation et al., has organized an Iftar [Ramadan fast-breaking] meal which took place Monday evening at California's state capitol in Sacramento.
The event was attended by dozens of primarily Democrat politicians. Though Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is listed as a sponsor of the dinner he was not in attendance.
Prime mover in this da'wa exercise along with CAIR is Assemblyman Dave Jones, who has spoken at numerous CAIR functions.
Of note, last year the FBI "cut off communication" with CAIR due to their terror friendliness. Additionally, numerous members of CAIR have been convicted of serious terror offenses including Ghassan Elashi, the founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR, who is serving multiple sentences for dealings with Hamas.
The group has repeatedly refused to specifically and by name condemn either Hamas or Hezbollah.
According to evidence presented by the Investigative Project:
"In explaining the FBI's cut-off to inquiring U.S. senators, an FBI liaison wrote that the evidence led to the conclusion that CAIR was not "an appropriate liaison partner." That would continue "until we can resolve whether there continues to be a connection between CAIR or its executives and HAMAS." See the letter here. Journalist Mary Jacoby notes that CAIR has responded by "working to stoke tensions in local Muslim communities over FBI investigative tactics. CAIR is angry at the FBI, because the bureau embarrassed it."
