Throw CAIR Off the Bus
Joe Kaufman, 1/16/09
While Israel is engaged with Hamas overseas in a deadly fight to protect the security of Israel's citizens, we find ourselves in a fight with one of Hamas's long-standing tributaries, CAIR.
CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic Relations has been allowed by the Florida counties of Broward and Dade to purchase advertising on 120 of our taxpayer-funded public buses. The messages permitted to be placed on these buses are offensive in nature.
Passersby read on these buses, "Islam: The Way of Life of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad." The message presented by CAIR is that Abraham, Moses and Jesus – arguably the three most important icons of Judaism and Christianity – were Muslim. The fact that Islam was created long after both of these religions is disregarded by CAIR, just as many of CAIR's radical brethren disregard the legitimacy of the Jews' and the Christians' Bibles, which they claim are nothing more than forgeries corrupted by evil men.
So while CAIR props up its religion in bold giant letters, others' religions get trampled on, stamped with the approval of both Broward and Dade's governments. And to make matters worse, the insulting messages ran all throughout Christmas and Hanukkah.
Shame on the counties for allowing this to happen. Shame on the counties for approving such offensive matter to be plastered on our public transportation.
The counties say that, in allowing the material to be placed on the buses, they are just being fair – that they have allowed advertising from Churches in the past. But we are not here to complain about religious advertising, nor are we here to complain about Muslims being able to advertise. We are here to say that the problem is with the message being presented.
And we are here to say, as well, that the problem is with the messenger.
CAIR was created by Hamas, the organization that is, as we speak, raining rockets and mortar fire down on Israeli communities, terrorizing Israel's citizens. CAIR was created by Hamas, the organization which is currently using Palestinian women and children as human shields. CAIR was created by Hamas, the organization which perpetrates gruesome acts of violence against Jews and even its own people, through such horrific means as suicide or homicide bombings.
CAIR was launched in 1994 by three leaders of the American propaganda wing of Hamas, the Islamic Association for Palestine or IAP. CAIR was founded as being a part of the American Palestine Committee, a group led by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. And CAIR was established as a defense mechanism for Marzook and other Islamic radicals, who have been taken into custody by American authorities and placed in our American prisons.
CAIR was indeed created by Hamas. And according to the United States Justice Department, the relationship between CAIR and Hamas existed long after the group's founding. That is the reason why CAIR was recently named by the Justice Department as a co-conspirator for a federal trial dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. It was the largest terrorism trial in U.S. history, and in the end, all of the defendants were found guilty on all charges.
CAIR likes to say that it was unindicted – an unindicted co-conspirator – but let it be understood from now until CAIR is finally shut down, "UNINDICTED" DOESN'T MEAN "NOT GUILTY."
The counties of Broward and Dade have, at least up till this date, ignored our concerns.
We are here to say to Broward County Mayor Stacy Ritter and the Broward County Commission and the Dade County Commission as well, enough with this idiocy! Take down the Hamas messages off of our taxpayer-funded buses now! We didn't agree to fund this trash, and we expect more from you. You were elected to protect us, not to offend us. You were elected to provide us security, not to accept money from those who wish to do us harm.
And do you even know where the money you accepted is from?
Take down the messages from the buses now! Throw CAIR off the bus immediately!!!

AAH TO CALL FOR COUNTIES TO REMOVE HAMAS-AFFILIATED CAIR ADS PLACED ON PUBLIC BUSES(Fort Lauderdale, FL) On Friday, January 16th, at 12:00 Noon, Americans Against Hate (AAH) will be holding a rally against CAIR and Hamas, in front of the Broward County Commission building, to push Broward and Dade to remove hate messages placed on 120 county public buses. The messages were purchased by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that was founded by operatives from Hamas and which, according to the United States Justice Department, has continued to be associated with Hamas.
One of the statements on the buses reads, "ISLAM: The Way of Life of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad." AAH has called the messages offensive to both Jews and Christians, as they imply that Abraham, Moses and Jesus – revered figures in Judaism and Christianity – were practicing Muslims and are solely part of Islam.
At the rally, AAH will make note of the fact that the CAIR messages or advertisements ran during the religious holidays of Christmas and Hanukkah. AAH will also make note of the fact that Hamas, this month, called for attacks on Jews throughout the world.
AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman and others had previously asked that the messages be removed on the grounds that they were offensive and that they were purchased by a terror-related group, but the Broward Transit department refused to do so.
The speakers at the rally will include AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman, Rabbi Andrew Jacobs of Ramat Shalom - Plantation, Pastor O'Neal Dozier of the Worldwide Christian Center, Rabbi Schneur Kaplan of the Downtown Jewish Center Chabad, WFTL radio talk show hostess Joyce Kaufman, Mayor Jim Naugle, and other religious and community leaders. All are invited to join.
When: Friday, January 16, 2008, 12:00 Noon
Where: Outside the Broward County Commission building, at 115 S. Andrews Ave., in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

CAIR and ICNA, two groups with documented ties to extremist groups overseas, have happened upon a new ploy to bring "non-believers" to Islam. The groups are using public transportation – subways and buses – to advertise their message. However, that message is one that is highly offensive and demeaning to those of other faiths, as it promotes Islam as a religion of superiority and spreads false information about revered Christian and Jewish figures.
CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic Relations was built out of Hamas. It was the brainchild of leaders from the American propaganda wing of Hamas, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP). As well, it was established in 1994 as a part of Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook's American Palestine Committee, a group whose mission was to raise money for Hamas from the United States.
CAIR, like all other radical Muslim groups, believes that Islam is superior to all religions and that the U.S. Constitution should be replaced by the Quran. This sinister belief and agenda were revealed in July of 1998, when then-CAIR National Chairman and current Chairman Emiritus Omar Ahmad was quoted in an article as saying, "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith but to become dominant. The Quran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."
ICNA or the Islamic Circle of North America was created in 1971 as an emulation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), also known as the Muslim Brotherhood of Pakistan. ICNA has been tied to the financing of Hamas, through JI's charity, the Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF). And the group continues to be a "partner" to AKF via its Al-Khidmat Welfare Society (AKWS).
ICNA's religious outreach or dawah group in America is Why Islam (WI). But instead of spreading the faith, many times WI is used to propagate hatred and violence. Outrageous statements currently found on WI's website, include [author corrected grammar for clarity]:
· "[W]e use the word ‘terrorism' too loosely. Your terrorist is another's freedom fighter... I agree with the act of resistance, whether it be through protest or violence."
· "The Americans don't care about their allies, even though speaking Islamically they are our enemies and not allies... Like Allah says in the Quran, Baqarah 2, ‘Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you… till you follow their religion'… Their friendship is an illusion."
· "Siding with the Kuffar [unbeliever] to kill Muslims takes one out of the folds of Islam… The American empire needs to be destroyed once and for all… Allah has promised us victory… Islam is meant to rule the world."
· "Don't get fooled, Allah (sw) says a believer who may be a slave is better than a free/emancipated disbeliever, though you may like the free/attractive disbeliever… You will be held accountable for your kids, if G-d forbid they don't make it to heaven as a result of a Hindu mother."
· "[T]he Christ that Christians believe will come before the Rapture is actually the anti-Christ who the Zionist-Jews will think to be their promised-Messiah… Most Christians don't know this. They live in their capsule of ignorance that is hardened by the western main-stream media… [T]heir greed and covetousness for consumption is likened only with Satan in the Bible."
Recently, ICNA came up with a campaign to advertise WI throughout the New York City subway system. To promote the project, it used "unindicted co-conspirator" of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, Siraj Wahhaj, as a spokesman. Now, both ICNA and CAIR have come up with a new way to advertise their message of hate – via public buses.
In Chicago and South Florida, for an extended period of time, public buses will be draped with radical Islam. Across the top of each ICNA bus, passersby are able to read the words, "ISLAM: The way of life of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad."
At the same time, CAIR has sponsored its own bus project, nearly identical to ICNA's. Across CAIR's buses, one can read, "ISLAM: The Message of Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad."
Both statements are incredibly offensive to Jews and Christians, as they imply that Abraham, Moses and Jesus – revered figures in Judaism and Christianity – were practicing Muslims and are solely part of Islam. Indeed, Islam came on the scene 2700 years after Judaism and 600 years after Christianity. And while there is no problem with Muslims praising their religion, there is certainly a problem with those denigrating the beliefs of others.
Furthermore, using absolutes, such as "the way of life" and "the Message," displays an air of superiority over that of other faiths, a concept that all Muslim fanatics brainwash their children to believe.
CAIR and ICNA, in their attempt to bring new followers to Islam with their respective bus initiatives, have proceeded to offend members of other faiths. Their use of Christian and Jewish religious icons to prop up their own extremist agenda reveals their true nature, one of Islamist supremism.
If the subway system and bus companies allow these types of projects to continue, they should know that they are contributing to the downfall of America and its Constitution. They ought to remove the groups' ads, and put an end to their aiding and abetting of radical Islam by refusing any future ones.

Fort Lauderdale mayor joins protest over pro-Islam ads on buses
A pro-Islam advertising campaign involving Broward County buses drew protests in Fort Lauderdale.
BY ADAM H. BEASLEY
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle on Friday added his voice to the vocal -- albeit small -- chorus demanding the county strip controversial advertisements promoting Islam from Broward County buses.
But his appeal will likely fail, if for no other reason than this: The county would open itself up to a lawsuit should it remove the ads.
The county has no plans to take them down before the existing contract expires Jan. 26, Broward Mayor Stacy Ritter said.
The Broward County Commission will decide then what -- if any -- advertisements with religious themes will appear on county buses in the future.
Ritter said the commission did not know the $60,000 ads' content before they adorned county buses. Broward County contracts out the sale of ads on buses to Lamar Advertising, which deals directly with vendors.
At issue -- 50 Broward County buses, which for weeks have been driving with the following message plastered to their exterior: "ISLAM: The Way of Life of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad."
With tensions already high between pro-Israel and Pro-Palestinian groups over the ongoing war in Gaza, the ads have exacerbated the conflict.
Friday afternoon, Jewish activist Joe Kaufman, chairman of Americans Against Hate, staged a protest at the Broward County Government Center, demanding the county take down the ads. Naugle spoke at the event, in support of the group's cause.
"The County Commission needs to park these buses this weekend and remove these advertisements," Naugle said.
In addition to the potentially inflammatory message -- Kaufman said it implies Abraham, Moses and Jesus were Muslim -- Naugle and the group of protesters took umbrage with who was behind the campaign.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations footed the bill. Kaufman and Naugle said CAIR is affiliated with Hamas, the terrorist group controlling the Gaza Strip.
Altaf Ali, director of CAIR's South Florida chapter, called the noontime rally "a big joke," saying the ads' message is being misunderstood.
"We're trying to inform people about Islam," said Ali, pointing out that the ad includes a toll-free number that provides information on the religion.
As protesters harangued the ad campaign, one of the 50 buses rolled by the demonstration. The group broke into boos as it passed them.
Unlike past demonstrations during Israel's campaign in Gaza, Friday's event lacked any true confrontation. Ali told his group not to counter-protest the rally, which drew roughly 100 people.
Past events have devolved into an exchange of insults between both sides.
Still, it didn't lack passion. The group broke into chants of "Shame, shame, shame," when Kaufman excoriated the county for accepting CAIR's money.
Demonstrators lined Andrews Avenue with signs that read "Hamas = Murderers" and "Throw CAIR off the bus." http://www.miamiherald.com/news/broward/story/857952.html
