Terror Tied Group And Extremist Imam Participate In Event - "Islam In America"

By BEILA RABINOWITZ and WILLIAM MAYER

December 10, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - On January 26, 2009 PA Richard Yoder the Mayor of West Chester, will be delivering the welcoming remarks at an event titled "Islam in America: Understanding Intercultural Differences."

Editor's note: The CAIR press release, reproduced in full below this article, erroneously lists PA State Senator Andrew Dinniman as a participant in this event. Senator Dinniman was never scheduled to attend.]

The event will take place at the Sykes Union Theatre at West Chester University in West Chester Pennsylvania.

Among the speakers are Iftekhar Hussain the chairman of the Philadelphia office of the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR].

CAIR is a Saudi funded front group for Hamas. It was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the just completed Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding prosecution, a trial that saw all five defendants guilty on all of the 108 charges.

One of those defendants was Ghassan Elashi, the founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR. Elashi was already serving time, convicted on other terror charges in the InfoCom case.

This prosecution established that the Holy Land Foundation was indeed a terrorist organization which funneled at least 12 million dollars to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. [see, William Mayer and Beila Rabinowitz, Holy Land Foundation Defendants Found Guilty On All Charges, November 24, 2008, http://www.pipelinenews.org/index.cfm?page=hlfid=11.24.08%2Ehtm] CAIR's relationship with the convicted terrorists at HLF was intimate; the group's Washington, DC operation was originally funded by a $5,000 grant from the Holy Land Foundation.

CAIR's Iftekhar Hussain is described as follows by terror researcher Joe Kaufman.on his website CAIR Watch.

Besides his position in CAIR, Hussain is the Secretary General of the American Muslim Society of the Tristate Area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware (AMS-Tri-State). (Iftekhar Hussain's Thoughts, 'About Me,' 2007; Pennsylvania Department of State, Corporations, Business Entity Filing History, AMERICAN MUSLIM SOCIETY OF THE TRISTATE AREA OF PENNSYLVANIA, NEW JERSEY & DELAWARE, 2007-2008) The American Muslim Society (AMS) is an offshoot of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), a group shut down in 2005 after it was found liable for the murder of an American boy by Hamas. (FrontPage Magazine, Joe Kaufman and Beila Rabinowitz, 'The Living Legacy of CAIR and the Islamic Association for Palestine,' October 22, 2007) [source, http://www.americansagainsthate.org/cw/profiles_cw.php ]

The keynote speaker at the Islam in America event is imam Hassan Qazwini. The head of the Islamic Center in Dearborn Michigan [one of the largest mosques in America]. Dearborn's large Muslim population is known for its support of Iran's proxy army, Hezbollah.

Qazwini is a known supporter of both Iran and Hezbollah. In 1998 he hosted the anti-Semite bigot, Louis Farrakhan at his mosque.

"At the time, the mosque [Qazwini's mosque] hosted Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who delivered a long hate-filled rant against Jews and Christians (and in praise of Saddam Hussein). When Farrakhan called Jewish Americans "forces of evil" with a "Satanic mentality." imam Qazwini and his congregants gave him a standing ovation. That's not to mention that the imam and other Muslim officials introduced Farrakhan as "our dear brother" and "a freedom fighter." [source, http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2008/01/extremist_imamb.html ]

Qazwini was quoted in an interview by German researcher Thorsten Funke as follows.

"When I visited imam Hasan Qazwini of Dearborn...he had a very calm voice during our conversation until we reached the topic of American Media. "We all know who influences the media in the USA," he told me. I looked at him and asked: Well, who? He insisted: "Come on, you know it, everybody knows it." I told him I didn't know. Then it burst out of him: "The pro-Israeli lobby!" [source, http://www.acgusa.org/review/picture/upload/ThorstenFunke.pdf]

Qazwini has been described as "Hezbollah's most important imam" in America and is a supporter of a notorious Hezbollah imam Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah who issued the 1983 fatwa to blow up 241 American servicemen, including 220 Marines in Beirut, Lebanon. [source, http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2008/01/extremist_imamb.html ]

Though billed as a moderate event, the presence of terror tied CAIR and Hezbollah supporter imam Qazwini point in a very different direction. The presence of Mayor Yoder at this event serves only to provide undeserved legitimacy to individuals who support America's enemies and function as part of the Muslim Brotherhood's stealth jihad. http://www.pipelinenews.org/index.cfm?page=cairid=12.10.08%2Ehtm
